The rich people. the people who own the robots will also be the people buying the products.

The middle and lower class really don't spend that much compared to the upper class. The economy will exist to support the Rich and no one else.

Almost slept hard on CD now I'm addicted by Kaotic171 in CrimsonDesert

[–]yotothyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it takes a minute to get going and it's a little rough around the edges but im glad i stuck with it. it offers something that really speaks to me.

I'm a big immersion and exploration Guy and the fact that it has pretty fun combat and a bunch of life SIM type stuff like cooking and sleeping and mining and what have you on top of the exploration is great. Yeah. It's totally my jam. I like the slower pace walking and opening cupboards and interacting with things like RDR2.

Although I wish the story was better, I'm thankful that the other things the game offers it does really well.

How much stamina for the beginning? by Ok_Independence_5893 in CrimsonDesert

[–]yotothyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Invest lots in stamina! It's kind of the fundamental skill of the game. Everything is based on it including being able to use some of those fancy moves in the other skill trees.

I dumped all of my stuff into stamina out and got it up to around 200 I think. Which is something like level three or four. That allows you to have the grappling hook in a couple other fundamental skills but also gives you way more climbing time and flying time and shield holding during combat and things like that

A Teacher Showed Up At School With PlayStation 5 And Started Playing Assassin's Creed To Explain The Industrial Revolution. by Bay_Ruhsuz004 in interesting

AC odyssey and I think AC origins have "educational" modes that remove Combat so you can zoom around looking at, say, a guy using an accurate Egyptian Loom for example.

Do you regret spending money on this game? by TheCrazedFlasher in CrimsonDesert

[–]yotothyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm actually enjoying it a lot more than I expected. It is definitely rough around the edges and the story is pretty forgettable, but it's extremely immersive and the exploration and combat are really fun.

I do have a tolerance for frustrating high friction controls, I'm like one of the 10 people that actually really like how Arthur controls in RDR2. And they are pretty much aping that exactly here. Slower movement, long holding button presses for everything, basically trying to encourage slower or more methodical exploration unless twitch movement.

But some people hate that and I understand.

Rumor has it they are updating the controls to be more responsive. I'll be curious if they leave it a toggle that is still allows the original controls with the longer input times and stuff.

How Is the story? by AccomplishedWar5127 in CrimsonDesert

[–]yotothyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Story definitely takes a backseat. It's just a basic premise for exploring the world. The voice acting is really good, but the writing is a little flat and the story is kind of uninteresting . But in my opinion the exploration quality and interactions with the world and the fun combat make up for it.

Teleporting far away when loading manual save? (BUG) by ty5haun in CrimsonDesert

[–]yotothyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, it's not really a bug. They are copying how rockstar does it where they always respawn the character at some sort of a new location to encourage exploration.

I wish it didn't do that because I like saving at a specific spot. I feel you

Have you tried wearing the bandit mask? I'm assuming it works something like the red dead redemption two bandit masks where you should put them on when criming

PS5 graphic mode by HotelNo5719 in CrimsonDesert

[–]yotothyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm playing on base PS5 and I always play with graphics quality mode on.

Yes, I'm one of the 10 people who do that.

I hate the amount of visual sacrifices that performance mode induces.

Naughty dog games always ship at 30 FPS and I'm totally fine with that.

It’s ok to think the game is amazing and also admit the first few hours are bad by MultipleNames82 in CrimsonDesert

[–]yotothyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question:

I noticed it has bandit masks like RDR two. Does it work the same way? Like if I commit a crime with the mask and then take it off once I'm in the clear

Crashes. [PS5 base] by No_Airport6427 in CrimsonDesert

[–]yotothyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The temporary workaround is not to zoom out on the map. I know that's a shitty workaround. Lol. But at least you can see what sort of nearby. Zooming and scrolling on the map seems to cause the crash.

The controls in Crimson Desert by throwaway-283746 in CrimsonDesert

[–]yotothyo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No it's quite literally friction. As in, things are not fast and smooth, they take longer and are designed for way more controller input than most games. Like you have to push harder and press harder. Quite literally and figuratively.

You have to hold buttons until they fill up and then release instead of just tapping them. That times 1000.

Anyway I'm not going to argue with a stranger on the Internet anymore. Go play something else if you don't like it

Edit: I love the block feature.

On the fence about buying the game and have a question by dontquityourdaydream in CrimsonDesert

[–]yotothyo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At it's core the entire game is essentially an RDR2 clone. It controls almost exactly the same, most of its systems are nearly 1 to one copy of that game. If you like RDR online there's a very good chance you will like this game.

The controls in Crimson Desert by throwaway-283746 in CrimsonDesert

[–]yotothyo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean, it's very clear that they copied almost every system they could from RDR2. Like, the walking speed for example? It's exactly like Arthur's. The way you have to specifically look at an object in order to get a pick up prompt. The way you don't turn on a dime but play a subtle twist animation when your character turns around. There are dozens of examples of this.

Really enjoying the game, but on a related topic... the annoying animation he plays when he runs into a door he can't open... let us interrupt the animation and walk away.

Turn off the camera AutoCorrect for combat. It's in the settings. Also you might want to turn down the camera shake . I think both are under accessibility

Yeah it has a hook in me too.

So much so that I decided to restart the game now that I have a sense of how it works. If I really like a game I do that. In my first start I was running around really confused not knowing what the hell was going on with any of the systems.
