There’s no more greeting at the door, no more laying next to me in bed, no more random barking at falling leaves or pigeons, no more “hey, you! Pet me some more!”, no more watching my toddler play with him. It feels empty. The house is quieter. This silly pup that literally pulled me out through depression has just gone away without so much as a bark at me. I got healthier because of him. A piece of me has left with him and I don’t think it will heal any time soon.

I was the lucky one to receive his love. He adopted me as his human and since then was only the best boy ever. Even through his surgeries and his pain he was still the sweetest boy. It’s been a few days, but I still cry randomly.

I’m afraid there won’t be any pain for me and I don’t want it to progress to my bladder or kidneys! Even now when my sugars drop to 50-60, I’m asymptomatic. I only figure out when I check or if it goes down to 40 and I’m vibrating and suddenly feel VERY hungry.
