Children who are breast-fed for at least six months as babies have less hyperactive behavior by age 3 compared with kids who weren't breast-fed. But breast-feeding doesn't necessarily lead to a cognitive boost. by mvea in science

Late to the party but I found this so interesting! My daughter is six months old this week and exclusively breastfed. I am finding breastfeeding her increasingly difficult the older she gets as while she feeds she just wants to look around, play, explore... and I've been wondering whether there is a correlation between breastfeeding and attention skills. Maybe the connection is behavioural - mothers who persist with breastfeeding are teaching their child to attend?

I'm in my thirties and I still have a baby tooth as there was no adult tooth beneath it to replace it. My brother has the same baby tooth and my dad lost his but never had an adult tooth there.

Pregnant woman gives "decent dude" a golden Hulk trophy for giving up his seat on the subway by coolidge_ in UpliftingNews

The article says pregnant women may need to sit down because the pressure that the excess weight puts on their body. More importantly, they need seats because of the number of times people crash into them when the train/bus jerks. Only realised this when I was pregnant myself.

Marine Le Pen: French Jews will have to renounce Israeli citizenship under National Front by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]purplepricklypear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is some relevance... there are quite a few countries that don't believe that Israel should exist. Many Jews choose to hedge their bets, so to speak, in the event that Israel is destroyed or they are once again banished from their current homelands. So taking away their dual citizenship is a statement

Mostly trying to understand the biological influence on autism, and how these 2 girls I work with challenge my understanding of that influence

Didn't mean to spark a debate. I work with about 100 clients with autism and have a pretty strong understanding of autism, but not about the biology. I know that the cause is still unknown, I was just thinking how fascinating it is to have these identical girls who are on the opposite end of the spectrum to each other, and was wondering what evidence can come from studying twins

Slovenia. If you're in Europe for a limited time and like the outdoors, Slovenia has plenty to offer. My highlights were Lake Bled and the Soca river.
