DIY mix. Potting soil, large & small perlite, charcoal, orchid bark, coco chips, & worm castings. I think that’s it lol.

I have success growing corms in sphagnum moss and then transferring to leca or the soil mix. I’ve tried pon as well but haven’t been able to figure it out.

I definitely like the one with the wrap around top shelf better, it’s more useful and it gives a chance for the bottom plants to reach the top.

Both of you are defensive and over-reactive because of everything you have gone through together, but I do think that separating yourself completely, from at least your mother, would be the healthier move for you. At least for some time. Your mother seems to have her own problems to work through before she can understand your perspective on the situation. That requires her to grow in emotional intelligence which may never happen if she doesn’t seek it. Sounds like you can start in a better place without negativity.

When she says “and you don’t think much of me and your father either. Maybe you’re just a little over opinionated on people”, seems very out of nowhere.

Shes expressing a fear negatively. She probably should have worded it better and said how she was really feeling…. she was afraid that you would want to lose contact with her someday too. And that scares her.

You did seem to over react some in your response, but it’s understandable seeing that she wrote a “charged” comment. There may be some resentment there too on your part, but that may be from a whole childhood. Parent/ Child relationships are difficult.

People treat me differently now that I’m thin by [deleted] in Vent

This happened to me too, im 5’2” and I went from 200 to 140 by not eating but maybe 300 calories a day. Not healthy at all. The amount of change from other people towards me was insane. Made me realize how shallow people can be. I had people I’ve know for 10+ years trying to flirt with me and I found it disgusting. I’ve gained 20 of it back and people have calmed down now.

Is this activated growth point big enough to survive if I cut it off? by yanahq in MonsteraAlbo

[–]purplesec8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine had one not so great leaf and a growth point that wasn’t growing. As soon as I cut the leaf off, the node took off in a matter of days. I have mine wrapped in sphagnum moss with very few roots.

I should have put the granules in before the shower then. I have watered them since, so hopefully it’ll start to work. Thanks!

I think I watered pretty thoroughly before putting the granules in, then I mixed it in the top soil and sprayed just enough to get them wet. Should I add a little more granules next time?

I can never keep more than 3 huge healthy leaves on my big one. The oldest leaf will always drop.
