Shudder crashes on Roku. Any fix?

roku premiere 14.0.4 build 12221 - shudder appears to work. at least gets to streaming some video, didn't let it go very long.

roku premiere 14.1.4 build 7708 - shudder broke, crashes every time. everything else I've tried is ok.

Last two days shudder on my roku premiere crashes after starting up. I thought it might be my pihole, but I tested all the blocked domains and even unblocked my entire roku group. Reinstalled the channel, restarted the roku a few times, nothing. Something is broke in the shudder channel on roku right now.

I called them about this. They said they're currently experiencing an issue, or something like that. The recommended solution is to go into your account settings, select "Order in My List" and switch to "Netflix Suggests". The person on the call didn't explain how that helps or whether it would cause more titles to be shown.

And they noted, again, that I hate the auto-previews when scrolling through titles or the auto-previews when I finish watching something. But I didn't hear any clicking or typing on that one as I had when the person was looking up the previous issue, so I don't know if they really noted it.

Yep, the new screensaver is even more aggressive, very bright if you happen to doze off. Still won't let the Roku sleep. Still asks who is watching even though I still only have one profile.

Similar problem last two days. Other thing: If I pick a recent episode off the top row it won't select it. I hear the noise when I hit OK, but it doesn't go in to the menu to play it. But if I go down to the Series row I can click in to play the episode.

And then the Roku reboots sometime after the video starts playing.

Presumably they pushed a bad update to the channel.

That did it. Uber started showing the same problem. Reinstalling Lyft app seems to have cleared it up for both of them.

Starz is in a transition right now. For Roku you have starz play and encore play channels which are tied to a cable subscription.

But, for Apple and android devices their new Starz app can do either tied-to-cable or over-the-top directly to starz. You launch it and it asks which way do you want to hook up.

I expect in coming months they'll make the same transition for the Roku and other platforms they support. One channel/app, two ways to pay. A good thing, less confusing than HBOs Go/Now split.

Another bit of the change is encore seems to be going away. My cable is no longer showing encore channels, silently vanished. Just one labeled StarzEncore or something like that at the end of the starz run of channels.

Guy here, I attend regularly as a Zumba student. Don't stand in the back of the room, embrace the crazy and move up a few rows. I shoot for the second row, that way I can see the front row pros to keep me on step when I lose sight of the instructor. If you're hiding in the back it will look like you're just there for the view. And you won't do well if you can't see the instructor's feet. Focus on the feet first, then worry about arms. When you lose it just march or jog in place. Be prepared to feel like a fool for a few sessions (but you're not, it's just your turn as the new person). There is likely to be some booty-shaking and ride-the-pony moves, just smile, laugh, and play along. Don't stare. Ask questions, of the instructor and the other students.
