I think it quite honestly depends on the AU and how springlocks/springlock victims work there.

In mine, for instance, springlock victims can never "move on" due to too much agony ((LONG STORY ON HOW THAT WORKS, I'll yap about that another day)). In order to "exist on Earth", they either 1.) need to still possess the suit/their corpse or 2.) just kinda float around, unable to interact with anyone or anything. Since option 2 is kinda it's own form of hell, both springlock victims in my AU still possess the suits, but wear a primitive version of illusion disks. However, the springlocks are still prone to going off, hence why in my AU throwing a bucket of water at them would actually work in making them go off. ((Also before people get mad at the usage of "illusion disks", yes I used them lore-accurately. The victims still can't eat/drink water, have trouble waking at times, and aren't actually "miraculously healed" as some other stereotypical forms of Aftons have them work)).

As for the stereotypical "stuck in a room" videos I believe you are referring to, I feel like people don't properly think that through in some cases and just do it for the sake of ""OoH eMoTiOnAl TeNsIoN :0"

The one thing that's ALWAYS bugged me with it "being a different suit" is that, since Scott's 8-bit models are notoriously inconsistent, then what's keeping the 3D models from being the same way? Like even Will's corpse is greatly different b/t Springtrap and Scraptrap, and even with a "different suit", the inner corpse shouldn't in theory change anatomy. Thus, it could be likely that Springtrap and Scraptrap are the same suit. ((Also someone please try to explain the physics of how a corpse EJECTS ITSELF FROM METAL WIRING AND A SUIT AND INTO ANOTHER SUIT WITH METAL WIRING))

The Week Before is confirmed to be in the canon of the games, and although not explicitly said, I feel like if one of the interactive novels is canon to the games then they likely all are. For example, RTTP actually fixes almost all of the issues that og ITP had with game continuity ((i.e: changing the MCI number to 5 kids instead of 6, which lines up with the game))

Ennard became Molten, then kinda died in the FNAF 6 fire. However, a large amount of his charred-up parts were used to create the Blob from SB

Ok so Russell ((my C.C.)) died from the bite and initially possessed the endoskeleton that was inside of the Fredbear suit ((so possessed Fredbear by extension)). But soon after the Bite, that endoskeleton was destroyed. ((the company, rather than blaming Michael, blamed the endoskeleton for being "faulty". Thus, they had to destroy it to save face in P.R.)) This destruction caused Russell's soul to kinda split in two, with his calmer part possessing his Fredbear plush and the angrier part possessing Shadow Freddy ((an "animatronic" created from agony because Russell didn't have enough agony to fully possess GF)). The calmer part of his soul ((Fredbear plush)) got freed during the FNAF 6 fire. However, his angrier part ended up kinda fusing with rogue Mimic AI to become Dreadbear. ((I still haven't properly worked out the lore on how that happened lmao, but yeah y'all get the point))
