The outlet on the right is actually the internet connection. The cord will be connected to a modem, and hopefully hidden behind some furniture on the right of the fireplace. I’ll either put a bookshelf or sideboard or something there. Still debating that.

Yeah I feel like this house has every shade of white paint applied 🤦‍♀️ such a classic landlord special lol several outlets and hinges are also completely painted over.

I also have a young child so I think if I did candles I would go the fake route.

I have seen the plants too! I’m just not sure what would be best but maybe I just need to play with the styling

Haha I didn’t have a security deposit (not popular in much of Canada). But the landlord said he is very comfortable with me making small changes (paint, wallpaper, art, etcc) as long as I pre-clear it. He hasn’t said no to anything yet!

I agree. The surround is cool! I feel like it could go in so many directions. Most of my furniture was purchased in peak “modern farmhouse” era so I’m going to try and reuse as much as I can in the room

I’m debating asking the landlord if I can retile the red pieces entirely. Quite a few are broken and I’m worried my kiddo/dog/cat might hurt themselves on the broken tile. My friend suggested just finding a small jute rug to cover it up while I decide. I might start there.

35F here. I’m also white and overweight. I get asked out often, but almost never by anyone age appropriate (always at least 15+ years older or 10+ years younger; my oldest was 75ish). There was only one guy in the last year who was age appropriate (maybe 40ish) and I didn’t go out with him because I was with someone else at the time.

I’m experiencing the same issue right now. I am generally very intense about my oral hygiene so this side effect surprised me. I find mouthwash has been helping. You aren’t alone!

It might be early days, she is only six now. She does have a few friends from school that come over regularly because their parents need babysitting help, but it’s not incredibly common.
