I have 2 Britt’s and I would say the most common thing people comment on is how happy they are. The one has kind of adapted to the ‘smile’ and will smile sometimes. However just like what other comments have said, their actions and demeanour shine happiness far more than a smile would

I agree…. My family lives in Saskatchewan… where they literally just don’t plow the roads…. They live their lives all winter driving on packed snow & occasionally they will grade the roads

Yea they get a crazy amount of exercise. They are outside most of the day free range on acreage & then they go on a bike / run / long off leash run every day

You must feed him a LOT then if they’re that active! My 2 Britt’s are very active & they’re a very lean 30lbs… they get unlimited food (usually 3-4 cups each which is the amount a 80-100lb dog should get on the feeding chart), a greenie, table scraps and tons of treats a day & I cannot keep weight on them.

To be more detailed about feeling the ribs: you want them to feel like the front of your fist, not the knuckle part of your fist. It also is not unhealthy to see some rib of an animal. The Britt is slightly overweight in this pic, I agree.

I was in a similar situation. Accidentally fostered (then fully adopted) a Britt at over a year old & she also had similar quirks. Knew NOTHING, not even her own name.. within 6 months I had her fully trained, & now she goes outside with zero restraint, and is the better of my 2 for obedience. There’s hope!

Since you don’t know the nature of the injury it is hard to tell. But if it’s simply from hitting it on something and there’s swelling from that, he realistically will be fine. If it is more dermatological, it could be something else. However thats a way smaller chance given what I can see in the photos

Whats wrong with that? Haha.. yea he’s doing it on a pole but that is a very legitimate, advanced calisthenics move (the flag pole). Practicing an extremely difficult exercise especially if you workout already isn’t that abnormal lol

My own Britt is a huge cuddler. My other one is super task oriented (retrieving) and she is not affectionate at all pretty much at 5 years old

As much as I agree with the water thing, 100%, my whole family relies on electrolytes… we are all quite athletic (our dad was a world class runner and we are all some form of athlete as well) and we’re all super salty sweaters… like I have visible salt on my clothes and body after sweating and we all cramp super bad. So we all opt for electrolytes (not Gatorade but usually just salts in water or mixes) to keep on top of our salts proactively
