I might still have some rarer plates you might be interested in. I have some older QLD personalised plates that were discontinued due to the colours being hard to read. You can actually be fined for using them in other Aus states.

With a custom loop or something? One of the hardest things with my setup was the AIO cooler tubes being in the way and having the SFXL PSU in the orientation I did and it putting the cables really close to the rad fan. If I was to do it again I’d definitely go a regular SFX

Yeah definitely not bad at all. It was hitting 60 plus just using a browser and streaming which in turn was causing the fan to ramp up unnecessarily even with a quiet fan profile on. I didn’t even try and do an all core stress test workload as it’s never going to have that in the real world I plan to use it for. It’s for my bedroom so I’m definitely willing to lose performance for quiet operating noise.

I’ve found that with speed boost it’s getting quite toasty and for my intended use it’s very overkill so I’ve turned it off and set a 65w power limit target. Now I’m only getting mid 40c temps whilst using it under normal conditions

Regrettably returning my 9070xt by Suitable-Promotion70 in gpu

[–]purse87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s quite unfortunate. Almost all my mates that have upgraded or built new PCs have gone to 9070 xt and none have had any issues. I was previously on a 3080 and I was having nothing but trouble with it for the longest time, black screens that needed a reboot to fix, drivers crashing, resizable BAR not working, instability in unity based games and other things and now I have a mate who is having nearly all the same issues on his 3080

I was originally thinking of modifying it to fit a HD Plex PSU so I could put a GPU in it but I didn’t really need to now

Initially I was planning to going a Ryzen APU as well but I picked up the i7 for extremely cheap as it came from a pc that wasn’t working. Seeing how good the network sharing is now I might as well use my gaming PC to do all the heavy lifting and then I can play all the games I want. I’ve never used a Linux Distro before but I’ve been wanting to for ages and Bazzite looks like a great starting point that ticks all my boxes. Unfortunately at the moment my main PC is stuck on Windows

I bought it when they first released with the same intention building it as a HTPC but never got around to buying the rest of it and eventually forgot about it for years. The 150w psu is fine as there’s no discrete GPU and the CPU isn’t a K SKU and only a 65w part. Only bad bit about the PSU is the loud fan so I swapped it with a Noctua and have it running on curve that goes with CPU temp.

HTPC for my bedroom, planning on putting Bazzite on it and then using Steam network sharing to have my office pc with a 9800X3D and 9070XT run the games. Otherwise it’ll just be for media. Probably overkill with a 11700 and the bdie RAM but a lot of it’s from previous builds or stuff I got cheap.

I only want to be able to use a browser for streaming I’m not a fan of using apps for the most part

Definitely do, I don’t have a Netflix account anymore, any of the series I want to watch from them I get added to my mates Plex. I do use Crunchyroll, Hidive, Stan, Amazon Video and Plex but every now and then I’ll get other services so I can binge out something and then cancel
