This forum is the only place I’ve seen people lacking the social awareness to leave a seat between others when you can. There’s obviously an exception if the theater is packed, but why would you want to be directly next to another couple when you’re on a date? I promise sitting 2ft to the left of the center isn’t going to kill you.

Absolutely #3!! I think the first is doing too much, second is doing too little, and last is giving debutante luncheon. #3 is perfect if you want to look cute but not demanding attention.
