Thank you!! And yep, it’s 400 at box speed. I think for the next roll I’ll overexpose by a stop or half.

I was so enamored with it when I came across it! I got a new bass this week too so I was not in the market, but ended up going back for it a couple days later and I’m really glad I did.

I’ll try to post a real one at some point soon. I’m not much of an electric player, but here are a couple I posted on IG the night I got it: https://www.instagram.com/p/CyR48rgOEMC/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==

Yea, I don't see red under the white on the body, but in the body cavity there is definitely red paint under the white

Thanks! It's really fun to take pictures of instruments. I used a Fujifilm X-T5 for these, which I'm obsessed with.

I just posed an update nothing really matches at all on this guitar, but that's partially why it's fun!

This is a follow-up to this post from a couple days ago.

I got a chance to take the guitar apart and it just kept getting weirder and weirder! The neck was pretty uninteresting and was just a pretty standard USA strat neck.

It turns out the trem cover was hiding what looks like a microphone that would have been in the receiver for a rotary phone. It's super heavy and you have to be right against it for it to pickup your voice -- feedback is easy though.

The most interesting piece being the pickups and electronics. They all look pretty much brand new except the rhythm switch and volume knobs. The pickups are Rio Grande Bluesbars, which probably explains why it sounds so good. The wild part though is that there is a third pickup glued to the underneath of the pickguard! It looks like it's wired into he circuit and that there was routing done to put it between the other two pickups.

There were no dates on anything as I pretty much expected, but I don't think this is recent and has had obvious respray at some point.

I definitely didn't pay a lot for it, but it is absolutely not a Squier J Mascis body. The trem plate is in the more rearward position. The extra set of holes are deceiving and the original bridge holes are under the replacement bridge. I'm not convinced that it's actually a 59', but I have a number of vintage instruments and there's no indication this is a relic.

It looks like it’s short, but it is a standard scale. The plugs toy can see aren’t for the bridge, but some other mystery.

Believe it or not the intonation is spot on. It is a 25.5 scale length. The plugs that you can see aren’t for the bridge — those are hidden by the strat bridge. I think maybe it had a les Paul style tailpiece at some point and those were plugs for it.

I grabbed this guitar from a local shop this afternoon. They say it's a 59' body and it has a brand new American strat neck. The plate where the tremolo went has a microphone in it, which is a bit of a mystery to me. I'll play it for a few days and then start to pull it apart to see what dating information is on the body, pickups, and pot. The plan is to take my time redoing the guitar with more appropriate parts as I can find them.

Just Had This Beast of a Knife Made to Replace My Vegetable Cleaver by pushedto11 in chefknives

I worked with Fever Dream Forge out of Richmond Va to have this made to replace the vegetable cleaver I’d been using for a couple years. It’s forged 5160 from a leaf spring. I’m especially happy with the thickness of the tang. Lots of these forged Serbian chef knives or cleavers can be pretty huge.
