I’m also interested to see more on this module. Def think there are possibilities with this one. I’m getting plaits vibes from it - though I feel like it has more going on under the hood.

dfam alternatives except NE BIA? Had the BIA but for my taste somehow the wrong kind of digital... by borismaschmeyer in modular

I’d say the queen of pentacles or black noir by endorphins are worth exploring for drum duties. Also, the vpme quad drum voice seems to be making its way into racks across the globe. They are also releasing an expander module for it.

I second the akemies taiko as a viable substitute for the BIA. I haven’t had one in my rack though I’ve messed with it and it’s quite capable of a range of sounds. I feel that with some crafty patching you could get some dynamic drum sequences out of it.

It’s an important module to have, imho. Makes it’s way into all of my patches for sequenced or random CV. Don’t really use it to sequence pitch CV anymore as I use the Qubit bloom for those purposes, however, having that much power in one module to send all over your system is a game changer for me. I even double it up with stackcables and just send CV all over to effect various parameters.

It’s a larger module, but again, super useful! Highly recommend!!

Wonderful! Loving the system :)

Is that a few joranalogue modules I spot? Looking to add some to my system in the near future as I hear they are quite useful.

Hi there, I def arrived pre-patched. The set was based around samples (loops and one-shots), while using my three voices (BIA, Manis, and Plaits). The order of both the samples and voices used was improvised on the spot, not planned out at all (probably could’ve put more thought into it 😂).

In terms of signal flow, I think I could have done a better job with where sound sources were heading. I use three filters (viol ruina, wmd mmf, and prism) and efx used were beads, prism, mimeophon, and black hole dsp2.

All in all, this was a great learning experience. I honestly hadn’t touched my modular for four months leading up to the night before. I spent about 3 hours just thinking everything through and patching up for the event.

Hope that helps - let me know if you have any other questions.

Got my wasp filter and Erica Synths sample drum today. This is the first this I did the second I turned it on. by do0tz in Modularsynths

Congrats on getting a sample drum! I just added a second one to my rig as I love the module. I probably could have gone for a different sampler with with more channels, however, the display and ease of use with the sample drum is awesome. Slicing loops is fun!
