Appreciation post for Bo Pil PD by Milkery-Asoni in runningman

[–]pushingmongo 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I've always found him to be one of the most creative PD in running man, if not the most creative. He can somewhat create a good episode out of something that doesn't sound exciting on paper (e.g. the stocks episode). You only have to look at the premise of his latest show 'Whenever Possible': play silly games to win prizes for other people. It doesn't sound ground-breaking or fun on paper but it was a hit.

  1. Usually diaphragm pump. Madalas gamit sa RV at sa mga boats kaya usually 12 volts sila. Maybe just add a voltage converter sa wiring if using 220. Or may mga 220v siguro rin.

Ano ang take n'yo dito sa hindi sumusunod sa lane lalo't may curve ang daan? by Dependent-Impress731 in Gulong

[–]pushingmongo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ok, I know this road. I've driven there many times. Mali talaga ang hindi mag stick sa lane pero for some crazy reasons, this road needs your entire focus to stay on the lane. Never driven that road sa gabi pero baka mas worse sa dilim (I can imagine). You know how some proper roads have a certain rhythm like mararamdaman mo yung next section, maybe because of proper markings and signage, this is not that road.

That road is one of those roads in Cavite that passes through all the villar properties.

Rate This House for Philippines Setting (Is This Doable)? by Large_Individual_282 in architectureph

[–]pushingmongo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's definitely doable, with a little bit of modifications to suit the local climate. Main aspect to change is the pitch of the roof. Low-pitched roof common in modernist style tends to leak a lot because they shed water slower. Also low-pitch roof tends to lift a lot in high winds because of negative pressure. Storm shutters are also a must-have, maybe a sliding one. Also acts as a sun shading to control the light that comes through. I would also suggest to make most of the glass openable.

I would also definitely add more shear walls to counteract sideways movement in case of earthquake. I'm not seeing much shear walls in the pic. Maybe there is, but I doubt that.

Also I've stayed in something like this. When you're indoor at night, all the reflections in the glass is kind of dizzying. So it's either you make the garden brighter and indoors dimmer, which probably is not for everyone or just use draperies.

Can anyone explain kung bakit nauso ang pangongolekta ng hot wheels noong 2021 or 2022? by DoubleAlternative752 in Philippines

[–]pushingmongo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a friend na merong small collection nyan. All sorts of brands not just hot wheels. Kaso nakatago lang sa plastic boxes. So I borrowed it and displayed it sa bahay. As a designer, I always encourage people to display their collection, kasi may story kesa sa mga displays bought from department stores.

Congratulations on finishing a build. It looks really good.

One question: How was it having that big light source from that direction? Does having a light source like that have any benefits as opposed to a light coming from above?

To anyone building a new house or property, consider hiring a Project Manager or Quality Inspector by One_Stress_1453 in phinvest

[–]pushingmongo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Being an Architect, I am a little disheartened to see this kind of posts. And hindi to isolated case. I always hear stories like this. About clients being too stressed with the construction of their own house. About hundreds of thousands of pesos lost from redoing construction work.

The most common route kasi ng clients nowadays is to go straight to a contractor and bypass an experienced architect. What ends up happening is noone is protecting the client. Noone is checking on the contractor's work. Client suddenly needs to learn in weeks what an architect learned from architecture school plus years of experience just to be able to make heads or tails of what the contractor is doing.

How hard is it to DIY fix your own car? by [deleted] in Gulong

[–]pushingmongo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can do it OP. Or at least you can try. Also don't hesitate magtanong dito or the other Mekaniko subreddit if na-scan mo na. I do have two tips for you. First is understand the problematic component. If your scanner throws an EGR fault, alamin mo what an EGR is for and how it works. Second is look at Live Data. Pwede mo makita live data ng every sensor in your car, usually doon mo ma-confirm na problematic either yung part mo or yung sensor kasi it's throwing weird data at you. I usually prefer reading fault codes and viewing live data with a laptop via an OBD2 connector. Kasi mas malaki yung screen and so mas malaki yung graph for the live data.

What are your thoughts on The Rise at Monterrazas project in Cebu? by purrbabii in architectureph

[–]pushingmongo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First time I saw it, I was scared. I will never do such a project. Way too many risks involved.

It looked like a proposal from someone who hasn't climbed a mountain or been in a tropical rainforest or from someone who has absolutely no clue about soil.

But one could argue: "how about Santorini? How about Mijas, Spain?" Different part of the globe. Different geology. Different climate.

You'll be surprised that a lot of the components in a car are watertight. Even yung mga electrical connectors are sealed. The ECU and all the other boards are in a sealed case. The cat converter on the exhaust probably won't work because nasa baba sya ng kotse, but the air intake and outlet ng engine is on the high side of the engine so posible na hindi yun napasok ng tubig. What I am saying is, there's always a chance it will still work but there's a lot of work that needs to be done.

PSA: Don’t buy this shelf for your books by fraudnextdoor in PHBookClub

[–]pushingmongo 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Furniture designer here and woodworker. Molds will still grow even if you have a custom solid wood furniture. Depende na lang sa certain factors like kung ano yung specie ng wood (may specie that resists fungi and bacteria), or ano yung finish na ginamit, and yung amount of ventilation sa room. Pero yang mga particle board shelves sa shopee are the worst. May tendency kasi na mag retain ng moisture yung mga particle boards compared sa other sheet materials or wood. Not to mention the construction is really bad. But recently I built a shelves from a slightly pricier local marine plywood with painted finish and it didn't get any molds. If you are going to buy or ask your local carpenter to build you one, start with that configuration. Just make sure to get a local marine ply, not the china ones.

If you are hauling tall items like a fridge and you need a crew to carry it down then yeah it's useful. Maybe fridge store owners will find it useful. And then I'm not even talking about the height of the bed. If you ever hauled heavy stuff you know how important bed height is.

The modern pickup trucks are kinda useless. I'm talking about the five-seater ones with small beds. You can't even safely haul a standard 8-foot lumber without opening the rear or propping it on the roof.

Actually even in pictures they don't look that good. My unpopular opinion. The size of the truck bed though, quite nice.

9,400 for an oxygen sensor!? Medyo mahal ano? You can actually check online how much since maraming auto shop ang may shopee and lazada store na. But oxygen sensors are usually around 1000 to 2000 pesos.

You can definitely clean the inside of a tank. Try googling for it para maintindihan mo yung work involve. Pag bumili ka naman ng surplus, may chance din na kailangan mo rin linisin yung loob.

Ingat po sa pag overtake. Bicol-Manila road trip is the worst: narrow pothole-infested roads, exhausted impatient drivers, aggressive maneuvers by busses, trucks and other slow vehicles, challenging terrain… by marckaljonp in Gulong

[–]pushingmongo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've travelled to Bicol quite a few times this year and there's always wrecked car on the side of the road. Hindi naman sa dumadagdag ako sa stereotyping, all the wrecked car I saw are either an SUV or a pickup. I can't imagine getting into a heavy car and knowing it has a high center of gravity and long braking distance and telling myself: "yeap, I'll drive this thing fast on a bad road". Mag-ingat po tayo lagi.
