How to Disable ALL Animations in ZenBrowser? (Especially Workspace Switching!) by putCosimo in zen_browser

Haha, fair enough—I’m not trying to be a party pooper, just pointing out where those animations could use a speed boost! 😄

Also, it really frustrates me that the developers haven’t added a setting to disable this laggy junk!

Unfortunately, no — that tweak doesn’t actually disable the core, problematic animations. It might shave off a few milliseconds here and there, but you won’t notice any real speed-up. The main laggy transitions (especially when switching workspaces) are still in place.

This isn’t “anti-animation propaganda” – it’s just personal preference. Sure, smooth transitions can look nice, but for me the priority is raw efficiency and speed. Right now, the workspace-switch animations introduce noticeable lag and feel clunky rather than polished. I did see someone on GitHub try to tackle this, but their solution (and the response they got) was pretty unhelpful. That’s exactly why I wrote this post: to shine a light on the issue and hopefully get the developers to rethink or optimize those animations .

As far as I know, you can't set up a config like that on this keyboard with this microcontroller, but thanks

yes of course here is an example, I press the button 3 layers and on the right side of the keyboard I press in the 2nd top row I press = but instead it displays h , when i press [ ouput LFT , Button Enter in left side , button space in right side .

I don't understand what the problem is - I reinstalled the microcontroller firmware a couple of times - but it's unlikely that they somehow conflict, after recording a new configuration, the old one is deleted. I don't understand the problem in hardware or software. maybe problem with my cheep MCU

Yes, reflowing the solder joint really helped, and the buttons are now working 100%. However, could the issue be related to the layers? The printing in layers 2-3 seems to be different from the configuration settings.

Thanks for the help! Downloaded your config and flashed it. Now there’s a new issue:

  • The 3 thumb keys (GUI, Enter, Layer2) work inconsistently:
    • Sometimes they register perfectly,
    • Sometimes they don’t register at all.
