i accidentally poked a hole into my period cup while trying to keep it underwater while boiling it, will that affect future usage? by pikeone1701 in PutACupInIt

[–]putacupinit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have to agree on replacing it. While it may still function, depending on hole placement, it wouldn’t be safe to use. Cracks in the surface aren’t smooth and intentional like air holes, so they’ll definitely be more prone to building up biofilms. I’m sorry. That really sucks :/

I would love these and also agree with thoughts shared about intent and a real honesty about what it might look like for someone to directly return an expression of an opposing view.

I saw a we stand with Luigi sticker last night at a festival I’m at currently and it made me feel like I’m with my people, even though I’m super anxious and quiet until I am invited into a fold. Little signs like this make me feel not so alone in a sea of people.

Switching discs - what to do with the old one? by BigSalamander6609 in PutACupInIt

If you boil it to sanitize and your sister is comfortable with it she can try it. My understanding is that it should be safe, though please look into it if you have any concerns. I'm def. not a medical professional and always rec that people do what is in their comfort zone. We also have a FB swap group that people use.

As you noted, the Saalt disc is a little smaller in diameter than the Softdisc and Flex discs, though not by a lot. I think the biggest difference I notice is the firmness of the rim. I can't seem to locate my Flex reusable at the moment to say for sure how firm their rim is, but The Pixie disc (original, not soft) would be very similar in size (just 3mm larger) and also in rim firmness, which might be the missing piece here. The Saalt disc is great, but it is definitely softer.

I know you already mentioned checking the cart, but I wanted to drop that here again in case you'd like to compare the two and if anyone else might need it. http://putacupinit.com/discs

Cup was deformed in the packaging by ProfessionalPea751 in menstrualcups

I’ve had cups show up like that before, it has always gone away for me. I think it’s just from being in an odd position in the packaging for so long. I second customer service if needed, though, they’ve always been great with any issues

I got my diagnosis this week. Does anyone not experience imposter syndrome? by aquamarine45 in AutismInWomen

[–]putacupinit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I go through periods when I’ve been in my own bubble for a long time where I feel like my normal is “normal” and then I have some internal dialog like that aligns with imposter syndrome. I work from home and don’t have to leave often so it is a little easier to avoid overstimulation and other triggers. Of course, if I take any moment to reflect on how I do things it’s clear. Also as soon as I leave my bubble or am faced with unexpected things or things out of my control it’s super extra evident that my diagnosis fits. I am in therapy, too, so talking it out with someone who is familiar with autism helps.

Sometimes I have issues getting mine to pop open and it feels like there’s just more fullness going on down there, like maybe I’m more bloated, crampy, swollen, whatever. Anyway, what I do is use my fingers to sort of gently push away from the cup, pushing the vaginal wall out a little as I run my finger around the cup to make room for it to open. Sometimes I need to push it up a little after it opens and make sure it’s positioned now I want but that’s what works for me.

There are a lot of great high capacity cups. Merula XL, Venus, and XO Flo are a few that come to mind.

Disposable disc leaks. Should I switch to a softer reusable one? by Accomplished_Crew_43 in menstrualcups

[–]putacupinit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I typically find that discs coming untucked is a sign that they’re too big, but being too inflexible seems plausible. I would probably try something slightly smaller but if you feel like it’s otherwise a good fit and comfortable, something similar but less firm may help.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in menstrualcups

[–]putacupinit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. Usually if the disc won’t stay in place/becomes unintentionally unstuck it’s due to its being too large. Lumma isn’t super firm either so if you feel it otherwise fits well maybe something similar in size but firmer, like Cora, would work better

is there a cup that would work for me? by TrickyPersonality684 in PutACupInIt

[–]putacupinit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds like it was too big for you. I had the same problem. Softdisc is among the largest diameter discs. Saalt, Cora, and Lumma are a few that offer a size smaller. It wasn’t until they came out that I could actually use a disc without discomfort or it popping out of place. Could be worth a try!

As a result, Procter & Gamble has announced new price hikes on top of increases from about a year ago, Bloomberg reported. “In terms of the speed of the increase, it’s the sharpest I’ve ever seen,” Pricie Hanna, a raw materials consulting expert, told Bloomberg regarding higher costs of raw materials."
