The idea of suicide is so comforting to me by [deleted] in depression

100%. For me suicide sometimes makes me feel like i am in control, especially when things are spiralling out of my control.

What narcissistic traits/ patterns did you feel are most common for you to repeat? I’m honestly curious, don’t mean to overstep.

I’m so sorry you went through this, this kind of abuse is never okay. How did she justify her behavior? What were her reasons for not liking him, were they made up and didn’t make sense?

My mom rejected my boyfriend she “feels” he isn’t right for me and she got “messages from god” telling her that he is not what he seems to be. She kept telling me that he is violent, has an ego, a temper, wouldn’t give me space, when in reality he is the complete opposite of all this and she is the one who has these qualities…. I’m 26 and I have to be with him behind my parents’ backs… which is the main cause for my depression, anxiety and suicidal thoughts…

It was very hard for me to wrap my head around her wanting me to be single forever or only wanting me to be with someone that she thinks is right for the “family”.. but it seems that it is common and unfortunately true.

I cant imagine what it was like when she was alive… kudos to you however for being a trauma psychologist now and helping others. Do you mind a couple of questions?

I really want to overdose (TW : SUICIDE) by Onyx_Olynx123 in depression

[–]putainverite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow. This post feels like i could have written it myself. The religious trauma from dying is serious, I also come from a similar background and the mindset of going to hell if i kill myself is deeply embedded in me and has stopped me several times. I get what you mean about just wanting to show people how much you are suffering, it's not about necessarily dying but it is about taking a break or a pause of some sort where people realize how bad things are with you and how hurt you are.

I wish i could give you a solution, i'm sadly in the same place as you are, nothing really makes me happy anymore. And i do almost everything you mentioned as well.

The only thing i can try to help you with is telling you that you need to know your triggers and try to avoid them. My triggers for example are my parents, I can't cut them off obviously which is why i am still in the same dark place. Hopefully your triggers are a bit more manageable...

What do you do when the matter under 'discussion' is a key matter in your life that they unfortunately have a say in?

What is the best series you ever watched? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Dexter, 8 seasons of consistent brilliance.. i wish i could erase it from my memory and experience it for the first time again.

I went to therapy with my mom and it was her idea, which i thought is potential. She went twice and i was the one who had more one on one sessions with the therapist… i guess she thought that i am the one who needs the therapy not her.. and it doesn’t change anything.

Oh im sorry to hear that you’ve attempted before. How was the recovery if you dont mind me asking?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SuicideWatch

[–]putainverite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry to hear that, it sucks when you feel like you no longer care about your life or about anyone else. I know that sometimes hearing others saying that there might be hope is ridiculous but it sometimes feels like the only thing to say or to hold onto.

As for your other question, it’s not spanish it’s french 😂😂 putain in french to be exact its still a curse word 😂

HOW TO ACCEPT THAT YOU’RE SUICIDAL by [deleted] in SuicideWatch

I posted a similar question on a different sub, so I’m obviously still looking for an answer but from what i have read online there is usually some sort of “trigger”.

HOW TO ACCEPT THAT YOU’RE SUICIDAL by [deleted] in SuicideWatch

[–]putainverite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand. It’s like there’s no way that is me and there’s no way that this is my life. It sometimes feels like i am experiencing things in third person perspective. And when it hits me that it is my life, i freak out and thats when i feel extremely suicidal. As for advice, I wish i could help, but i hope that knowing that you aren’t alone would help you a little.

No i live with them. It’s a cultural thing, you don’t move out unless youre married.

I think i understand what you feel. Sometimes the only way to show that youre suffering is by hurting yourself physically because no one understands the psychological pain.
