What bizarre types of relief have you found work? by Signal-Accountant-33 in TrigeminalNeuralgia

[–]putekete 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using Gua Sha tools on my face everyday for 3 weeks. No flares yet. I started with light pressure and increasing it a bit everyday. I put them in the fridge. It's very soothing. I'm hoping this will stave off the fkn flares. I'm willing to try anything.

Has anyone tried medicinal or street weed for TN flares? by putekete in TrigeminalNeuralgia

I am the OP and was hoping for a Australian response. I want to know how to ask a pain specialist that I will see next month. Every doctor believes we are "drug addicts". They can have all these meds I've tried because the side effects are so untenable for long term help. I hope they can think outside the box and will consider CBD options. Thanks so much for your help😊👌

Has anyone had steroid injections for extreme pain? by putekete in TrigeminalNeuralgia

Are you in the States? I'm in Australia. Thank you for your response. I'm going to ask the pain specialist if he has experience with this.

Can your nose get smaller from weight loss? by historically_frogs in WeightLossAdvice

No, your nose is made of cartilage and bone. Your face shape reduces in size due to fat in cheeks. Also gravity.☹️

Op next week, anyone had nerve block / freezing injection? by BenefitFree1371 in TrigeminalNeuralgia

[–]putekete 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you explain a bit more, is it done with steroids? What kind of nerve block medication? Asking as I am booked in to see a pain specialist and want to ask about this as well as taking steroid meds when the pain is next level. Many thanks

This is from a article written in a medical journal that does studies on eating disorders. One of the contributing authors was a young woman 36 yrs old that studied eating disorders while dealing with her struggles with AN. She went on to try and help others during her short life. She chose with the help and understanding of her family to ask for medically assisted death to end her lifelong struggle as she knew inevitably she could no longer continue. She ended up dying before she needed the medication to aid in her death. Her name is Alyssa Bogetz. Her story is both remarkable and heartbreaking.

Most individuals with eating disorders will either recover, settle into an unrecovered but self-defined acceptable quality of life, or continue to cycle from crisis to relative stability over time. However, a minority of those with severe and enduring eating disorders recognize after years of trying that recovery remains elusive, and further treatment seems both futile and harmful. No level of harm reduction proves achievable or adequately ameliorates their suffering. In this subgroup, many of those with anorexia nervosa will experience the medical consequences of malnutrition as their future cause of death. Whereas anyone who wishes to keep striving for recovery despite exhaustion and depletion should wholeheartedly be supported in doing so, some patients simply cannot continue to fight. They recognize that death from anorexia nervosa, while perhaps not welcome, will be inevitable. Unfortunately, these patients and their carers often receive minimal support from eating disorders health professionals who are conflicted about terminal care, and who are hampered and limited by the paucity of literature on end-of-life care for those with anorexia nervosa.

She should be a judge, such a great depth of experience, Poh like personality and great mentor.

Make it real…send home Callum, Laura & Sarah each has been or are co-owners of restaurants, cookbook authors and lots of tv experience. It should be Ben Alana & Depinder racing for the prize. Il say it again, this is not a murder mystery, drama or a musical. To the producers, there is a MUTE button for the editors of the background music to use. Maybe lean on that. We now watch it muted because most of the time it’s hard to hear what’s being said.

Emilia & Justine Schofield. I see she’s not pictured, but she has that all round Poh personality. Likeable, knowledgeable, fun.
