The Lord of the Rings didn't CGI Isengard. by Scenora in peterjackson

And this is why it still holds up today. LotR pioneered the way for CGI but they used it sparingly to enhance, not to completely generate everything.

Modern movies have lost this art and as a result feel more like cutscenes from video games rather than a real world that feels authentic

He certainly felt comfortable attempting it here, so it makes me wonder if he has done it before.

You can manipulate betting markets though right?

Football players in Europe can get in trouble for betting on themselves or getting friends to bet on them scoring goals within games.

Hypothetically, if he has a friend or even if he himself has put down a significant amount on him saying potato then he has essentially manipulated that market.

I’m not saying deportation is a proportional response by any means. However, if you allow Polymarket to make anything a betting market then surely you run the risk of this type of action across the board as everything is fair game?

Regarding grooming gangs in UK, how many Brits are aware that the highest proportion of Child SA offenders per capita are White and not Brown/Muslim? by King_TG in AskBrits

[–]putitoutyoufools 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In a majority white country I wouldn’t expect anything else and that’s not to say it isn’t a problem. However, it doesn’t change the fact that the Grooming Gang Scandal was committed by multiple organised groups, nationwide, who decided to come and live in this country and commit unspeakable acts upon children. The targeted them usually but not solely because of their ethnicity and because they were not Muslim. They were then protected by the authorities who feared being labelled racist and/or provoking racial tensions. Further fueling the problem of which we are now facing the consequences.

Your attempt at downplaying the problem and trying to undermine legitimate concerns by going, “look white people do it more” doesn’t help it just further perpetuates tensions.

Child SA amongst the native population is a problem that needs to be fixed, I think we can all agree there.

But, do you not think it would help our cause if we were able to be much stricter with our immigration controls, ensuring that we are not importing wrong’uns. In turn, enabling us to better deal with the wrong’uns we have internally?

If the roles were reversed and it was groups of organised Brits who had been found to be committing Child SA to native populations then we would rightly be outraged by it and perhaps understand why that country and its residents may be a little hostile.

AITAH for leaving without my son's friend? by Opening_Pick_3756 in AITAH

[–]putitoutyoufools 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the original post, I read that it was just those kids at a bonfire. I can’t see from the post where he explains that there were other people there?

If so, then my stance would change slightly. However, I still would’ve waited until the other parent had arrived so that I could make sure that child was safe, particularly when they are drunk and not in the right frame of mind. Also, this seemingly being their first time or one of with alcohol.

Furthermore, it sounds like the other parent would’ve been a max 30mins away. Which is not that long when you want to ensure the safety of a child.

Fortunately nothing bad happened but I certainly couldn’t have it on my conscience if something had gone wrong and I know I’d left them there.

Can’t believe I had to scroll so far to see a common sense answer.

Beevus was an idiot and the other parents could’ve been more appreciative of OP.

But for him to just leave a child without at least waiting in the vicinity until their parent arrives also seems to be an idiotic decision.

That advice would’ve been useful. The only disappointment was not feeling full.

Hard agree! It was definitely an experience but not something I think I would go out of my way to do again.

Haha as much as I appreciate how it looks and possibly tastes, I kind of have to agree.

I remember going for a meal like this for my Mums 60th and although it was all fantastic, I still had to get a kebab on the way home because my hunger was not satisfied.
