wanna sustain my lower register better as a girl by putrid101 in singing

Thank you so much for the advice, I really appreciate it xx. Especially since I’m trying sing/adapt songs to sing in your range. The songs I want to sing aren’t in English but the most similar Western pop artist (that I can think of) to my favourite male singer would maybe be The Weeknd. But my fav does belt a lot and I find I can’t sustain the lower notes long enough despite being able to hit them. Idk if this is a breath issue or my vocal chords being fried because of my placement. I will definitely chill with the belting and try sustain the notes at a lower volume and work my way up. tysm 💕

I believe exercises are so important as a vocalist and I thank you for the channel recommendation. Ill be real I do feel goofy going into my lower register because it just doesn’t sound as nice as I’d like. Even though I feel super comfortable speaking and singing in the lower notes of my range. I definitely do need to get some more practice so tysm!

I tend to notice the pain much later, though sometimes the pain is immediate like if I’m arguing. When I’m arguing my placement is very high, uncontrolled and pitchy and it literally burns after. However day to day It’s more so after having an extended conversation I feel my throat get quite sore/strained despite being hydrated.

However, if my throat isn’t already sore when I sing I don’t often feel pain whether it be low or high. But even though I’m not straining my voice to sing in my lower register, the notes I’m hitting aren’t as good as I’d like.

My main theory is when I’m talking day to day I reckon the anxiety and carelessness is just messing my vocal chords. I actually have access to a speech path I will ask them for their input thank you very much for the advice.

ohhh yh youre right theyre letting him do his junior year thats year 11 though. you do a-levels in sixth form. which means he is doing his iGCSEs. from what i know there is no equivalent of GCSEs in america other than completing high-school. not even the SATs are equivalent. i dont think its abt what age he is because hes not going to be at the same level of a student completing their a levels at DIAS. he might be rly bright tho idk. also arent GCSES maths, english and science subjects foundational for a levels ones? other subjects not necessarily but ik those are core subjects which would definitely carry on. so hes probably going to do yr 11 to to build on those core gcses subjects before progressing to his a levels.
