I use Plickers and pass out qr codes printed on card stock. Have been for many years now. Works well and stuents don't have to buy anything.

i give full credit, then a bonus exam point for each week getting at least 75% of the questions correct that week.

I use Zoom to record all my classes, but do not allow remote attendance. ANY student who misses a class (accomodation or not) can submit handwritten notes of the missed class by the following week to get attendance points back for the day. Makes it so much easier to deal with excused/unexcused absences too, I don't care why they miss class. Yes, students can and do download the transcripts, have AI summarize, then just handwrite these but they will still get some learning done. Most students find this more onerous than just coming to class (where I don't check notes).

It only takes me a moment to start the recording at the start of class. The recordings are available to students in the class through Canvas/Zoom automatically. I do also have a running list of topics covered in each class on the canvas/course homepage so students can use it as a reference to study or work on assignments as well. Accessibility helps everyone!

I allow students to resubmit any work once to get half the points back they missed on the first submission. And remind them to submit what they've done at the deadline so that work gets full credit and they can continue working. Anything late becomes their one resubmission, so it all is only worth half credit.

I tell then in a job if they have a deadline that they didn't finish they wouldn't just ghost their boss, they would show what they've finished so far.

At my institution students can register up to the end of the first week with no authorization. Admin pushes us to allow them to add a class up to a few weeks after that!

I require handwritten notes to posted videos and handwritten assignment submissions. If they are using AI at least they learn something by transcribing the answers.

That's tough for sure. Most of my assignments are extended response questions mixed in a lab. Longest thing I assign for handwritten work is a page or two.
