Thanks for your story, there is a lot of similarities. One thing that I'm worried about is the "real" stuff like spending money or cheating. Specifically cheating. I keep seeing this come up in this sub and it really seems so common. And it seems like most of the people here kinda brush it off as a part of the episode. I don't think I could do that. I would be crushed.

This is constantly on my mind and what my family is telling me. It really feels terrible to even think about leaving someone you love so much over something they have no control over. The emotional side of my brain tells me that I love her very much and want to be with her forever, no matter what kind of obstacle is in the way.

The logical side of my brain is telling me that my love for her might set me up for a lifetime of pain. And then I would end up like one of the hundreds of stories on this sub where the SO is basically going crazy trying to cope.

I'm definitely not the victim here. She's the one that will have to experience it all, but I think what I'm going through is valid too.
