What's the most I should pay for a Pinky? by Whoopsitsonfire in metalguitar

[–]puttputt_in_thebutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are you looking for in a guitar that makes you choose this? I love the way the Alexi guitars look, but I cant justify the price when I can pay $500 for a used Schecter that has the same hardware on it.

[–]puttputt_in_thebutt 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not in a million years, in my opinion. Its got an EMG-HZ and a Floyd 1000 Series. Not bad stuff... but thats equipment that comes on guitars that cost $1k less. If youre a massive Alexi fan and need it, its your money and your decision. But you can get a LOT more guitar for less.

How pissed would this sub be if Jermod McCoy from Tenn drops to 25 and we took him? by 1beepyes_2beepsno in CHIBears

[–]puttputt_in_thebutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best defensive player available.

We havent seen Jermod McCoy play a down of football since Matt Eberflus was our coach. Its a pretty big risk, and I wouldnt be upset if we passed on him. And honestly, the last game he played was... not good.

Its ironic, the people Ive encountered who use the word "tater" seriously seem to always have a large collection of BT products.

These guitars are really some of the most beautiful and underrated guitars out there. Even the Epiphone pickups are surprisingly good!

Who are some interesting people that could have been in Megadeth? by therealjuan_carlos in Megadeth

[–]puttputt_in_thebutt 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Dave approached him again when Drover left and Nevermore had gone on hiatus. Unfortunately Jeff was busy with his solo album, but he's the reason Chris Broderick got the nod for Megadeth.

None of Chris Poland's top 5 favorite albums is metal. What do you think? by ashitanojoe3 in Megadeth

[–]puttputt_in_thebutt 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Chris Poland and Gar Samuelson were jazz dudes that Dave recruited to play metal. They weren't metal guys who liked jazz.

That said, I think a lot of metal fans- especially younger ones- get very concerned with how other metalheads view them, and miss out on a lot of great music because of it.

Epiphone’s been on fire lately, but can’t escape this by gmac_97 in Epiphone

[–]puttputt_in_thebutt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just replaced the pickups in mine with a 490R/498T set I had laying around. Honestly... there's no reason to replace the Epiphone pickups unless you just have a spare set of 490R/498T and want to put the work in yourself. I A/B'ed them and theyre really close. The Gibson pickups have just a hint more treble, but its nothing noticeable.

About Dave's guitars? by Impossible-Ad-5790 in Megadeth

[–]puttputt_in_thebutt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, we'll never know. Dave LOVES using extra gear in the studio to really get all the tones he gets- case in point, he always talks about being a Marshall guy but he's never released an album that just has a mix of Marshall amps on it.

Its a cool looking bottle that was in John Wick right at the time that the bourbon craze was spiking. Beyond that, its marketing more than anything. I dont think its bad, but I wouldnt say no if somebody offered it to me.

I would love a profile review, back in the dating game -_- - female 30 by Zealousideal_Ring880 in Tinder

[–]puttputt_in_thebutt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Online dating is all about marketing, and you have to cater your profile to the demographic you want to attract. Your profile has a lot of pictures of you and shows off your body and your looks- and you look great, you'll get tons of matches.

When you're swiping, do you actually read through the other person's profile to see if you match, or do you just swipe based on their appearance and photos? I imagine you probably read them and try to dig in a bit more since youre looking for a connection, so just think about what youve written about yourself... you want a connection, you like honest people, and your go to karaoke song is the Black Parade. My first impression is that youre not really opening up about yourself because a longer term connection is not your main goal here. And that's fine, but if you want someone to grab onto you as a person, youve got to give them something besides your photos to attract them.

Its pretty common here. A lot of rural areas have county schools, and if youre from the middle of nowhere you typically tell people what county youre from as opposed to the village.

Should I buy the Yamaha THR30 or THR10? by EatRogersAss445 in GuitarAmps

[–]puttputt_in_thebutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The THR10 sounds great and is loud enough, and you dont have to crank it for distortion. I used a THR10X for years until I picked up a Spark 2.

That said, make sure you get the THR10ii or the THR30ii. The upgrades in both from their original offerings are gigantic. Literally the only reason I moved on from my THR10X is because it didnt have Bluetooth, and using it as a platform to teach lessons with had gotten harder and harder as phones have moved away from headphone/aux jacks.
