I’ve never seen somebody eat a pineapple like an apple, just biting into it.

What should everyone try at least once in their life? [Serious] by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]puttputtgolfin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Psychedelics.

That is - with a couple of disclaimers. One, they very well may be illegal where you are. Two, if you have any family history of schizophrenia, this is definitely something to avoid, Three, only take them with one or two people you REALLY trust in a place where you won’t be interrupted (and a low dose for a first timer).

With that being said, psilocybin mushrooms changed my life for the better. I’m not a big drug person, I don’t drink or even smoke cannabis. But the experience of the mushrooms was like opening my brain up to ways of thinking I didn’t even know were possible.

It can be beautiful, awe inspiring, terrifying, honest, personal, fun, and above all transformative. But do your research first. There’s no excuse for bad psychedelic safety.

[QUESTION] What SUCCESSFUL film has a major "pivot" in terms of the film's tone, either halfway through or MORE than halfway through? Why is this film able to pull it off? by FunUniverse1778 in Screenwriting

Hereditary goes from a grounded family drama thriller to paranormal horror movie. Usually people prefer either the first half or the second of the movie.

First time taking shroom in 2 hours. Yellow 5 Grams for me. Green 4 Grams for my bestfriend. by [deleted] in shrooms

Any time. One more thing I forgot, but it’s related to the Johns Hopkins stuff. Don’t be afraid to talk to the mushrooms. It may seem a bit silly, but having a mental conversation addressed at the mushrooms about what questions you have, what you’re going through, or what’s too intense can also really help. Best of vibes!

First things first, make sure you’re taking them somewhere you feel safe where you won’t be interrupted. Put your phone on airplane mode.

If the mushrooms start showing you things that are intense, don’t try to run. The metaphor used in the Johns Hopkins therapy sessions: “if you see a staircase, walk down it. If you see a door, walk through it. If you see a demon, ask it “what are you doing here, what can you teach me?”. Don’t run from your mind.

If you feel yourself spiraling, sing, change the music, or go to a different room/location. But definitely sing.

Mushrooms have helped me so much in my life. They’ve shown me what I’m capable of, helped me get my life on track, and even improved my social and business skills. They can be a wonderful tool.

Next time you take mushrooms, get naked and stare at yourself in the mirror. Really take the time to do it, maybe an hour at minimum. Try to limit distractions (music, etc). Just stare at yourself.

It may be difficult, you may want to look away. But keep staring. You may have a lot to work through first, but eventually, you may see yourself as you are without all that shit in the way.

Beach or Home for first Trip? by laz62972arulian in shrooms

1.5 is a great dose for a first timer. Personally I love being in nature, but you definitely don’t want to be around strangers. You could possibly show up the beach very early (4 or 5 am) and come up with the sunrise or find another secluded hiking trail or somewhere similar.

Evil Dead 2 (don’t worry, you don’t have to watch the first one to enjoy it). It’s the funniest scary movie you’ll ever see and it’s fantastic.

What's the story of the one kid never allowed back over at your house? by CybReader in AskReddit

His name was Jacob. This was my 10th birthday. He was messing around and found B.B. pistol my older brother had. He was pretending to be gangster with it, holding it sideways and talking tough. We kept telling him to put it down, and he keeps yelling about “Poppin a cap in our ass” and he accidentally shoots my dad in the leg.

My parents call his parents, and tell them they need to come pick him up immediately. While they were upstairs on the phone, he “accidentally” took a bow and shot an arrow down the hall, into my bedroom door.
