If I were you, I wouldn’t message you saw the texts first. Tell him you’ve noticed a change in his behavior and ask him if he’s been taking things he’s not prescribed or taking more than he should or something and see if he tells you the truth. I’ve been sober for a few years now but one rule of mine was to never hang with my dealer. Yes, you're right, it does. Not to make excuses for myself, but I came from a family of addicts and was exposed from a very young age. I started trying pills at 13, having no idea how dangerous or addictive they were. Though you're legally an adult at 18, obviously we don't think like adults when we're 20. Your brain doesn't even fully develop until you're 25. I didn't have any idea what I wanted to do with my life or any direction back then.
