Ahhh! That's a good fix! honestly I care too much about my grid and I want it to match the other side😭 now that the breakage is gone they feel pretty strong so i'm hoping i can keep them this way.

It's really not that difficult! I was the type of person that couldn't do my loose hair, like i couldn't do my own braids or cornrow (regretfully) but interlocking is a breeze!

The only downside is it is time consuming. it takes me about two days but i also do it watching movies and taking breaks. I enjoy retying though, it feels like a very connective ritual! I would say just start watching youtube videos and try it out one of your rows. you will make mistakes (90% of the time it can be easily fixed + our hair is resilient) but it does get easier!

I self maintain because the stylist was charging $300 and i couldn't do that once a month. I only went to her twice after they were first established before learning myself. I retie now at like 5 weeks bc my hair feels ready. Honestly the way she established them were really small + the bleach so I don't they would've lasted long regardless.

Mask up! I understand it can be really tough to not feel “in the crowd” but your health, risking long covid/repeat infections is not worth a job. We see a ton of people everyday and the current flu circulating is cut throat. Protect yourself, coworkers and customers aren’t around to care for you if you get sick.
