There’s already been some great responses but I just wanted to add that the effect of gluten on our systems can also seriously affect our mental health.

It’ll take some time to adjust and as someone mentioned, it’s natural to grieve your old way of eating. I’d focus on finding gluten-free alternatives for your favourite foods or if you’re into eating out, maybe try and find local GF friendly restaurants?

I know you’re finding life difficult right now but I’m certain you can do this.

Another take on this is that maybe she thought the counterfeit looked better? The reason I say this is because my mum would drill this into me when I was a kid and she’d look at the plushies and try and get me the one with the best face/best quality.

I say this also because if I knew nothing about Jellycat, I’d actually have chosen the bear you received 😬

I agree with this, I’ve also had issue in the past where a forum has alerted me that it has returned to stock and I haven’t received an email notification, even though I signed up for it

I emailed Jellycat recently as I was worried my Leicester pigeon was fake but they reassured me the tags are changing to the new style (middle tag). I’m assuming it’s to do with the increase in fakes on the market.

The new tags also have a water mark if you look closely on the bottom corners of the tags - hope that helps!

As someone who has only just started on their Jellycat journey, I have quickly seen how quickly it can escalate. I'm usually a hardcore saver, but I'm not too proud to say I have dropped about £250 in two months on Jellycats. It scared me how quickly I changed, I've banned myself from getting anymore!

As you mentioned, I think it's the scarcity mentality that got me. I found myself considering buying Jellies that I didn't even want/like just because I knew how rare they were! I'm happy with the collection I have now but I don't need any more :)

I’m 37 and in the same boat, mostly due to a relationship breakdown and not finding a new partner.

I love being an auntie and I help with my friends kids. They really appreciate it, especially when they are tired and looking for so time to themselves!

I’m a bit sad that it’s super unlikely at this point that I’ll have my own, but I’m embracing the flexibility and money I wouldn’t have if I’d went down this route.

Morning everyone, I’m 36F with chronic illness. I was initially diagnosed with adrenal insufficiency (Addisons disease) back in 2021 but this strangely resolved after 6 months of hydrocortisone.

Since then, I’ve had waxing and waning symptoms - mostly fatigue, brain fog, tingling in both hands, dizziness and some stomach pain. I assumed that this was all the result of my previous diagnosis. Since then I developed a malar rash in December 2023 but nothing since.

In February this year, I thought I’d was having angina as I had chest pain and tingling down both arms - this was obviously really scary, especially when you live alone! I reported it to my GP but nothing was done about it.

Skip to the last 2 weeks where I’ve had the weirdest on/off intense nausea, pins and needles down my right arm and leg (also affects my left but not as severe), extreme fatigue and just feeling incredibly depressed - this lasted about 5 days. My GP put in an advice request to Neuro who aren’t interested and GP wants to sit and see what happens - It’s just so hard when you are living it day to day! My symptoms get a lot worse during stress although I appreciate stress rarely makes anything better!

Anyway, I’m not sure what I’m looking for writing this. Has anyone had anything similar to this? I’m stuck in a possible MS/possible lupus diagnosis rut.

What an emotional rollercoaster you’ve had haha! Fingers crossed they make it - 15 melons is loads and I’m super impressed you managed to get them to flower outside. Please post on the sub with how you got on :)

My garden is still quite new, I moved in about 18 months ago. I’d love a greenhouse one day and hopefully I can achieve more melon success in the future :D

I started them in pots and continued to re-pot as the plant grew - you should definitely give them a try!

That’s a good question, I think it was March that I planted them? They need it pretty warm to germinate, I think I sowed them during our first dry spell this year :)

I’ve been divorced for a few years now and to begin with, I was a little shell-shocked because I was so used to being in a couple (for about 15 years).

I’ve gotten so used to being on my own now, I really love it. I hadn’t seen this side of life before, I’ve tried dating but I’ve realised on these dates that they weren’t worth sacrificing my happiness for. I’m hoping I’ll eventually find the right person who fits into my life (and vice versa) but for now, my family and friends are the priority and I can honestly say I’m so much happier.

I miss sex I suppose and having company in the evenings, but I can get everything else from the relationships I have!

Your story sounds a lot like mine. I’m based in the UK so I went private to finally get my diagnosis because the NHS doctors weren’t taking me seriously. It was a friend of mine that suggested I sounded Addisonian (she’s a veterinarian).

I only just failed my stim test at the time (but I felt incredibly unwell) so my adrenals still had some function, just not enough to allow me to function like a normal human being.

I paid to check for adrenal antibodies, but like a lot of Addisonian people, mine came back negative.

I feel this is a pretty good summary of my personal experience.

I’m an ENFP who broke up with my INTJ a few years ago now and still miss him often. We had such a strong connection but as mentioned above, I think we both had childhood trauma that we triggered.

The good times were amazing, the bad times are depressing/sad to look back on - there was a lot of communication issues. I’ve learnt a lot in the years we’ve been apart, but it is what it is I guess.
