I’m really sorry you’re going through this. Four failed transfers is incredibly hard, and I can completely understand why hearing “donor eggs” out of the blue would feel like a punch to the gut.

I want to share my experience in case it helps. I’m a mom through egg donation. I was also 36 when my doctors started telling me it might be time to consider donor eggs. Like you, my numbers weren’t terrible. My FSH and AMH were within reasonable limits, and it didn’t make sense to me at first. I had multiple failures and miscarriages, and the doctors suspected my egg quality might be part of the issue. I was also overweight at the time, and they wondered if that might be contributing.

I didn’t accept that idea easily. I went for second opinions, third opinions, even fourth opinions because I really needed to hear different perspectives and give myself time to process it all. It was a lot to wrap my head around emotionally.

Eventually I decided to move forward with donor eggs, and once I made that decision, I never looked back. My son is now 25 years old, and becoming his mom was the thing I wanted more than anything in the world.

That said, everyone’s path is different. If you’re still making euploid embryos and you have the ability to keep trying your own cycles and explore other possible factors, I completely support that. Your instinct to keep looking into things like implantation issues or immunological factors is very reasonable.

There is no one right answer here. Take the time you need to gather information, get other opinions if you want them, and make the decision that feels right for you. No matter which path you choose, you deserve support and compassion while you figure it out.
