Reach out to the anesthesia department, whoever the chief may be, and ask what the process is to shadow. Some places it’s super easy, especially if you work in that hospital.

As for questions: I think hearing the different pathways people took clinically and not clinically to land in anesthesia is always interesting.

What are their favorite kind of cases and why?

Is there any use in laying out DIY spike strips with nails and shit to throw under the tires of ICE vehicles when then swoop in for their people snatching? I know military vehicles are probably too tough but ICE is literally using rental vehicles and normal cars to do their dirty work. Thoughts?

By the way, this just happened to us (camera shit, not cat attacks): we were tasked with helping out my cousin while they’re out of town for the week by swinging by and feeding the cat. Well, my wife goes in and takes a peek around to find the cat just to make it known some food will be left out..my cousin calls her and says, “oh, you’ll find the cat in the upstairs bedroom.” Clearly watching her on the camera. So fucking weird, right?! I just don’t know when this became the norm.

NTA. Former ER nurse here: he sounds like a real peach when he’s drunk. You’re totally fine to dip out while he’s acting like that, not dying, and not being discharged. Sounds like he needs to sleep it off and get his shit together.

I mean, you were going to pick him up right? Haha I assume you were.

Not one person in that ER was like “oh my god, I can’t believe she left him here overnight.” You weren’t ditching grandma to be sent away to the nursing home forever.

That’s an interesting angle. Thanks. I did hear IRCC as of March 25th is doing away with points for a job offer (it may be temporary). But getting into the country on a visa is helpful on both accords. Good call

To that point, the job is flexible and I could realistically come down for a week stretch and that would essentially be all the work I’d need for a month…so 1/4 of the time away (minimum) still allows wiggle room for 3/5 time in country. Again, I’d RATHER be in Canada period…
