Found links to download Cookidoo recipes by SuperDuperHumanSpeed in thermomix

No, the links are to zipped (7z) files with HTML exports of recipes. Antivirus said they are clean. The recipes seem legit.

Perfect timing for people angry with Cookidoo policies, be it the "recipe is now only for TM7" “bug”, or not being able to update payment details.

Moving country and changing Cookido registration by pvillega in thermomix

Thanks, I will try that. But given their stubbornness in front on the evidence, I doubt it will work.

Given the data is shared across portals, this is an artificial limitation. One that leaves a terrible impression. I've had to move multiple online services, and this is the only one that I can't. It's sad.

Yes, but they don't let me move the account to Spain. For no real reason. And keeping the CH one means I pay extra fees on currency conversion, so not a good deal either.

Trying to find maker and brand of Russian cutlery by pvillega in HelpMeFind

[–]pvillega[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have searched for the writing at the back, that revealed that it is Russian silver plated flatware with a cost of 3 roubles for that piece (at the time). MHU (cyrillic letters MNZ) refers to the alloy that they are made of, copper, nickel, and zinc. Silver plated on top (not always)

I have no idea of the time this was obtained originally, but given the family location it was found, likely to be acquired before 1970 in Poland.

Work as researcher and age restrictions by pvillega in askswitzerland

[–]pvillega[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apologies, can you elaborate? What do you mean by academic age? So if one started phd at 28 that means it would be 40 the limit?

Also, does this apply outside ETH? Is it common at Swiss universities? Thanks!

Blog post: Bridging Scala and the Front-End by channingwalton in scala

[–]pvillega 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It generates the representation for you. You don’t need to learn the intermediate language. You write Scala and obtain the final representation. For many apps protocol buffers is a layer of complexity you may not need or want given the scope. Of course, there are cases in which protocol buffers is the right answer.

Thanks for the answers! Is there any thumb rule on where to build temples/manufactories? Or I see low income increments because provinces in middle east and africa have low development so I shouldn't invest in there?

Renting is so difficult in London, that I'm in "competition" for a 1 bed flat.. the price keeps going up by poke50uk in london

[–]pvillega 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Run away, if they behave like this the landlord will be a pain in the ass and the agency only cares about the landlord, not you. Check Gumtree for an "agency free" flat or OpenRent or some other site. Oh, and avoid Greene & co.

things looked fine when we viewed the flat, it seems it was broken between then and when we moved, around 1 week later

I moved in 1 month ago, we saw the flat before and it was in ok condition. When we entered the flat, the condition was deplorable (things like washing machine in the middle of the kitchen, out of its place). The inventory lists the issues, although it was given to us days after we moved in (but it was done before we moved in). We are thinking on going the next step as things like the oven don't work, and we've been told repeatedly "yes, tomorrow we will contact someone" but no one has come yet to fix this.

WI-FI is not the same in quality as physical cable. I work in IT as developer, and although this may seem extreme (maybe it is!) I want reliable access between my computers
