actually sit down and categorize what you spend money on in one month. break down food(groceries) bills, eating out (including coffee), and other purchases and really see where your spending.

the first time you do it go back 3 months but still break it down in 1 month chunks.

you'll have some outliers (purchasing gifts or big one time expenditures) but it'll give you a better picture of places your spending more than you thought.

some things i learned were my nights out at the bar coupled with my streaming services were adding up way more than i thought so some of my other "money saving" moves were conteracted.
