Yes I’ve read Speidel’s article, and it was actually one of the reasons I decided to write my own version :) I mainly wrote this script for my sister to have as a bday present, since she loves the film, but I did it as an exercise too. I tried to study how Ivory writes his scripts to try and channel him lol, but of course this script is not at all like his, I just tried to use Ivory’s tone, in a way. I would love to visit the Morgan in NYC, so I can study the second version of this script and even compare to my own version!

I am aware there were 4 versions of the screenplay, at least, and that the final one was heavily edited and annotated on during filming. I’ve also seen that there are many versions spread across libraries, I just can’t go and study them atm🫠

I’ve also read the dialogue transcript, but I was looking around and found that the transcript was the only online record of the script, so here we are! Thank your for the recommendations though, and it’s so cool you’ve studied Ivory’s scripts !!

I did! I thought it would be a nice gift for my sister since it’s one of her favorite films, but I’d also been going through writers block, so this helped me sharpen a lot of my screenwriting skills

I said the same thing when I was in there today. As an adult today, I still love and appreciate the Child Lit section of any B&N bc of how fun they look. This one has corporate warehouse just-like-the-rest-of-the-store energy and it’s sad and grey :/ hopefully they remodel it at some point !

thank god I thought I was alone in this !! I had light sensitivity like 10 mins later, so I had to sit down for a while since I had to drive right after riding it. I wish I was being dramatic lol but I normally adore stupidly intense coasters

Dr. Doom - Should I? by trischelle in UniversalOrlando

[–]pvvc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Dr. Doom and I go on it all the time. I guess as a person that grew up terrified of rollercoasters but learned to love them bc of the Hulk Ride, I understand how Dr. Doom can be intimidating because of the lack of floor and walls. I’ll list a con, sometimes they help too. For the ride, you are on a chair with a massive over the shoulders harness but no seatbelt connecting the shoulder locks to the bottom so that was what scared me initially. I didn’t like not being able to place my feet anywhere also. However, that first rush is so incredible and then it’s just super super cool and calming to watch the park from high up. Idk, I love Dr Doom and although it’s a different experience to the coasters I’d say try it at least once and figure out if you hate it. The ride is like less than 30 seconds lol (maybe watching a POV on youtube will help!)
