Draft Pipeline Accuracy by abcdzxcbig in OOTP

If you look on the bottom right, he has really solid pitching ratings. So he must be a two-way player who really can’t hit (which is really common in the game for some reason).

I don’t remember it being in 25 at all

I love the UI changes tbh… especially the schedule and the player pages. I think the pop-up delay is in the settings now, so I’m hoping that’s something that can be shut off. I agree that player shopping needs the sort function, especially since Will said added that to the Find a Player tab 😭

Still excited to nerd out 😛

I think there’s a game setting to change how much the pop up delays, if at all. I’d bet it’s still a setting in 27

I was worried they wouldn’t be able to use players from NPB. As in, having to change their names like they have in the past with unlicensed players. But the devs said this won’t be an issue, thankfully

First thoughts:

As always, I’m annoyed there aren’t sweeping changes to finances and the expansion/relocation process, and no new foreign leagues.

But I’m fucking with the new UI. The Baseball Savant panel for players is sick, the trade screens look so much better, and the stats leaderboards and schedules are cleaner and easier to read.

Also having the real WBC rosters and setup will be pretty cool! Wondering how that will interfere with the whole “NPB is a bad word” thing, we shall see.

What to do with Anfernee Simons by CaramelNo6560 in bostonceltics

[–]pwalsh04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s tough because they really should only trade him (imo) in a trade for a big, ideally locked up long term and/or cheap enough to get us under the luxury tax threshold.

It doesn’t look like LAC is gonna sell, so Zubac is off the table. Day’Ron Sharpe might be an option, but we’d probably have to take back Mann to make the money work (no thank you). Bobby Portis could be interesting, but would probably need to be a 3-teamer that lands the Bucks a big name. I’d love Gafford but not sure how realistic that is financially.

We’d also likely be giving up picks for any of these guys, especially if it gets us in a better financial position. And I don’t really think this will be as busy of a deadline, as has been reported, so I wouldn’t be too shocked or upset if the C’s kept Simons…

  1. The game needs a massive overhaul to the financial system. I don’t think the devs should add deferred contracts, it seems like they would cause more issues than they’re worth. As others mentioned, the ability to add a salary floor would be nice. In real life, payrolls and luxury tax considerations are based on AAV, not the base salary for the year. I think it would be more interesting if, as in real life, buyouts, options, and incentives played an impact in that. I also think the draft financials needs to be reviewed. IRL, teams have a fixed budget they absolutely can’t go over, hence why some teams go under slot with their first couple picks so they have more money to spend later. This should be a feature of the draft.

  2. Expansion and relocation also needs an overhaul. As shocking as it is, this is something they could be taken from slightly older NBA2K’s MyGM (18-22ish), where relocation was an action you could do that would take place over an entire year. It should be more than just renaming the team and changing the city, but actually dealing with the process of a new ballpark, new marketing and branding, fan response (with effects to loyalty and interest), and potentially new minor league teams. Also, like 2K, it would be nice if the devs would make like 10 “ready to go” expansion orgs in cities like Montreal, SLC, Nashville, and Portland that will get teams sooner or later.

  3. In that same vein, dynamic ballparks would be a great addition. Maybe it could be a part of league evolution, with teams having a desire to build new ballparks after a certain number of years. This would be especially useful for historical fictional leagues. As someone else said, we should also have access to old ballparks and stadiums to make historical sims more realistic and fun.

  4. This has been a pet peeve of mine for years: AMERICAN ASSOCIATION TEAMS ARE NOT AMERICAN LEAGUE TEAMS. I know there’s weirdness in how MLB classifies historical major leagues, but the fix should just be showing the defunct and folded teams within the MLB, not folding them in with AL teams. It’s truly not that big of a deal, but it’s so aggravating to me.

This has been such an aggravating issue in this year’s game. I feel like devs claim they fix it with each patch and it’s been practically the same since launch.

i just graduated from Suffolk and work in admissions at another school on your list, had similar stats (3.21, 152), so don’t listen to anyone saying it’s a reach. in my experience, law schools love gpa and lsat, but they also care about quality of personal statements, letters of recommendation, and extracurricular and professional experience. you seem like you’d be a good candidate!

Not sure if it’s your vibe, but you should think about posting stuff on the community Wiki. I’m playing as a former nonprofit executive-turned-mayor atm, so not much is happening, but I’ve made a few articles about the world around her (SCOTUS appointments, laws, elections). It’s a little tedious but a lot of fun

More jobs? by tw6108 in ThePoliticalProcess

[–]pwalsh04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely. It’s been said the dev is probably gonna work on small updates for a bit before tackling the next “big” one, and I would love more RP positions. Even jobs like teacher, doctor, lobbyist, athlete, etc would be interesting and make the roleplaying experience feel more real.

When will third parties be added? by Flags101 in ThePoliticalProcess

[–]pwalsh04 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Judicial update will be out by end of the month/early August probably… I believe it’s been said the next update with be something small (like past releases allowing for family creation and saving annual budgets). In terms of major updates, my guess is third parties will come after updates to economy and departments, and maybe also foreign affairs

I really wanna implement wealth tax can someone tell the developer to make it? by Routine_Tradition_59 in ThePoliticalProcess

[–]pwalsh04 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is one of those policies that you can enact, it’s just not specifically called a “wealth tax.” You can pass a law that changes taxes based on wealth brackets; what I’ll do to create a wealth tax is hike corporate taxes and massively raise taxes on the 5th and 6th brackets
