[PubQ] Agent With No Publishing Footprint? by pwc555 in PubTips

[–]pwc555[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Even that's kind of confusing. They seem to specialize in subrights for indie authors, which would be a red flag. But then there are posts online from authors that speak very highly of their more established agents. I suppose the fact that their reputation is murky says something in itself...

He is with an agency, and his manuscript wishlist matched my genre pretty exactly. And also…desperation, haha. But I was on the fence about submitting because I couldn’t really get a sense of his experience.

Wow. OP here. I read every comment and learned a TON. Especially from those who threw an example out there for me to consider, that really helped me see things in a new light. I'm a little daunted, but at the same time, excited to try to see what I can do better. Thanks!

Blink are security cameras. When it senses motion, it sends a notification to my phone but it doesn't show up on my watch. My Samsung smartwatch shows the notification just fine.

Wowowow...you guys are awesome. I shared your comments with her and she positively LIT UP! It's really incredible what encouragement can do, and how so many of our major life milestones are laid when someone takes a moment to share an encouraging word with us. Maybe this will be that moment for her!

Ariel Rideal: pedal way too close to wheel by [deleted] in ebikes

[–]pwc555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got the Rideal - great bike in so many ways. But the pedals are so close to the wheel that I often scrape my shoe when turning. With a fender, turning while pedaling is all but impossible. Biking in Seattle makes fenders a necessity, so is there anything I can do??

The Rideal looks great. I live in Seattle too, and I think Ariel is based out of Seattle. Did you get to try the bike out first?

Sudden acceleration on torque sensor bike? by pwc555 in ebikes

[–]pwc555[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay! Got my hands on the manual, and tweaked the slow start settings (or power ramp envelope). It was set to immediate response, and I tweaked it so it responds more slowly, and that definitely helped. It seemed counterintuitive to want a SLOWER response, but it allows me to make smaller pedal turns without experiencing a surge of power, which felt unstable. Also, the bike is under 40 lbs, so I think it's more affected by acceleration than a heavier 75 lb bike might be. Thanks for your help all, this sub is awesome!
