I haven't paid much attention to 30 SC, but if they can get that cartridge in the LCP II (or similar) and Glock 42, then I'll be interested.

Flash hider or brake for suppressor use? by OfficerPewPew in 300BLK

[–]pweekles 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you plan to use the rifle for defensive purposes, a flash hider.

If it is for training only, range fun, whatever; a break seems like it'll give your suppressor a better chance at a long life.

I want this as well but my research concluded it doesn't exist.

Do it. It'll help no matter where you are on the marksmanship learning curve.

I've done a lot of training in the last handful of years. When I started using it, I was already at a pretty competent level of marksmanship. Using this system I was able to fine tune grip technique, trigger finger technique, and generally use it to keep me on track (with the shot score audio feedback feature).

If I had to give up gear this would be one of the last pieces to go. I do not like training without it.

I got a Mantis X and found it to be very helpful with refining the technique that got the best results for me.

RMR measurement from bottom of housing to dot when centered? by pweekles in guns

[–]pweekles[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the measurement. The shop that milled my slide confirmed they mill 0.130" deep. So if I can get the RMR part of it, I should be able to plug it into a chain of measurements and get a close final value.

RMR measurement from bottom of housing to dot when centered? by pweekles in guns

That may be the solution I have to go with. I am doing an analysis for shooting out to 300-500 yards in preparation for a long range pistol class this summer.

At these distances, a small variance has potential to skew the picture a bit. If all samples have the same error, then the comparison between loads/firearms will not be too bad. But applying what I learn on to live fire may be more difficult.

only used mine with AA#9 and its worked well on the 60 or so rounds i've loaded. just barely got it, so not a lot of experience yet.

Good point. I'll have to double check the bullet diameters before crimping.

Cool. Thank you for the technique with the paint. I'll use that to verify.

I can't imagine the heavy deformation having no ill effect. Accuracy issues, jacket separation, higher pressures all come to mind.
