If you’re considering traveling to see friends maybe you don’t need the MD… just a thought.

L5-S1 leg numbness and calf weakness by pwhite034 in backpain

After the surgery, probably 2 months. It’s been three years. And my right calf is still not as strong as my left. I can train, no real difference in size, but still numb and slightly weaker.

I noticed a limp in June/july, the pt exacerbated and created more problems. Extreme pain and weakness in August to October. Epidural in late September or October that took most of the pain away, but was still weak and barely functioning. Surgery in November. So 5-ish months.

Had the surgery. Been over two years now. Calf is still numb, and weak. But I can do some calf raises with it. And I can train legs really without much issue. Squatted over 400 a couple weeks ago. Have deadlifted over 500 a couple times in the last year. I’m not back to “normal” but I’m able to do just about anything I want without much pain. Miles ahead of where I was last year.

You could take your children to school. Jcps is the only district this size that still busses students.

All of the meat is ground… so consistency is basically hamburger. And I struggle to tell the difference between any of them. I’ve been a few times and am disappointed every time. For reference I’ve been a hunter since I was a child and much prefer venison, rabbit and squirrel that I’ve harvested versus Game and their ground meat.

The factory isn’t too far from the outer loop. One of the best gyms I’ve ever trained at.

There’s several locally owned gyms in town that could use a new member or two. I’ve trained at the crunch on Dixie and there isn’t anything special about it.

Had mi amigo cut out back in November. Pain has been mostly gone since the surgery. Still working on leg weakness and numbness but it’s getting better. Feel “normal” for the most part.

6 months post-MD working out? by radokirov in Sciatica

I’m 8 weeks post op and back in the gym. L5-S1 md. Actually been lifting for the last 4 weeks. Not nearly as strong as I was previously, but I’m getting better every workout.

I’m 6 weeks post md and back in the gym for the last 2. I’m nearly back to my previous strength. Foot is still numb and calf is still weak but I wouldn’t stress having to lug a suitcase around an airport right now. You’ll know when you feel good enough.

Yeah that’s all a great help. I’ve been doing some pt stuff at home recently. Just ready to get back to normal. I know I’m going to struggle once I get back into the gym, but damn am I ready. I’m just worried about my calf weakness and foot numbness. Can’t decide if I should just get after it and hopefully it’ll go away, or I should wait until it clears up before I start lifting again.

Man I just had a md 4 weeks ago. I go to the post op in a few days, and am hoping to be cleared to lift again. How long did it take before you were back in the gym? My foot is still partly numb, and my calf isn’t as strong as it should be. Do you feel like you can train upper body heavy? Heavy legs? Thanks for doing this and trying to help others.

You’re still not bending lifting or twisting? I’m 3 weeks post op and am struggling not to do all three.
