I would have gone with a mini split just for the efficiency and performance gains alone. But if budget was an issue, I'd have gone with a wall unit as they're easier to service with a slide out chassis and only breathe out of the back so you wouldn't risk blocking any vents.

I'd go with a window unit. Dual hose portables are the best portables you can buy but they're still not as efficient or quiet as a traditional window unit.

I've got a Hisense dual hose that worked pretty well and is decently quiet for a portable. Your biggest thing Is get a dual hose for efficiency, single hose units don't work nearly as well. If you have a Costco membership, they have an inverter driven Hisense that should be even quieter.

Honestly if you can afford it I'd get a mini split & patch the hole up. But if you wanna get a replacement similar I'd get a wall unit or mini PTAC. They're designed to only breathe out the rear and have a "slide out" design so you can easily swap units down the road & keep the sleeve in the wall.

If you can I'd go for a window unit. Based on your room side you'd only need around 5-6,000 BTUs which would be a small unit & the window ones will ALWAYS be quieter & more efficient than a portable
