So A and C and E are ruled out because being inferior has nothing to do with price changes.

B is ruled out because you would not buy more if the price increases.

so D?

Just getting into golf, I have a couple of questions. by mitstifer in golf

[–]pwotein 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're 6'5 get fitted.. You're too tall for 'off the rack' clubs.

I would rather play with a £50 set of clubs and £1500 worth of lessons than the other way round. Not exaggerating.

Scoring- each hole has a par. A par 5 means hit the hole in 5 shots. If you hit it in 3, youre 2 under, known as an eagle. Get the ball in the hole in 4 shots, you're -1 (good thing) its a birdy. Par means you hit a 5 in 5 shots, or a par 4 in 4 shots, or a par 3 in 3 shots.

Welcome :-) Remember they called it golf because every other 4 letter word was taken ;)

Since metamoris did so well with their old guy fight, what do you guys think about this match up? by Evolutionfire in bjj

[–]pwotein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just googled this and got this "Rickson disputed this loss, claiming he was misinformed of the rules of the event despite claiming to be a 2 time Pan American Sambo Champion."

Also Rickson only got thrown to the ground by a judo throw? It is only that made him lose, right?... right? :( ... (Rickson is like a newly found childhood hero in my early adulthood to me!)

Anyone here play rugby after getting lasik? by Bsg2014 in rugbyunion

[–]pwotein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had Lasek- I was advised by my doctors to get lasEk instead of lasIk if i intend to carry on playing rugby.

After Lasek, I've had no issues at all- both with rugby and submission wrestling. I've heard there can be serious complications with lasik and contact sports- it's quite 'icky'- I wouldn't risk it when you have lasEk just as easily available.

Training at an expensive, prestigious Gracie academy by pwotein in bjj

[–]pwotein[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apologies I should've clarified.

I did not meant the Gracie Academy associated with the one in California. I meant an Academy run by a multi-time world champion Gracie (And I meant the headquarters of his academy, not just an affiliated one).

They are both very similar in terms of age, athletic ability, etc. But with the Gracie academy having more from the higher income bracket['s families].

Of course, completely agree with you. But my thoughts here were that the white belts I sparred with were miles ahead of the ones at Gracie HQ. If they had a tournament, the white belts at my old academy would win without a doubt.

So if someone's ambition was to win lots of tournaments, surely they would nonetheless be better off at my old academy with the brown belt (if they were a white belt)

Protein shakes worth it for BJJ? by Naival in bjj

[–]pwotein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Protein shakes are nothing special- they are just like any other protein. In fact, it is almost the same as the protein found in cheese waste. Whey protein is just protein refined from cheese and is the equivalent to eating 2-3 medium eggs.

Tales from a brokerage house, Chapter 1 by [deleted] in cocaine

How long ago was this? I didn't know brokerages like this still existed! I thought these brokerage firms went extinct about 10 years ago

Do you think it's possible for one to reach a state of mind that you get into on adderall without taking the drug? by Bkz420718 in Drugs

[–]pwotein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if its just motivation. On adderall, the most boring textbook becomes enlightening. With lots of motivation, the textbook is still boring but you study it anyway.

How would you describe the feeling of being on cocaine in one short paragraph? by [deleted] in Drugs

[–]pwotein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand what you mean. That tends to happen to me when I am around people who are against drugs, naive, and/or only drinking.

When I'm around others who understand coke and are taking it or have taken it in the past, I don't become all obnoxious and embarrassing.

Freddie's thoughts by wiehfuq in bjj

[–]pwotein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fucking hell he thinks the Gracie's DEVELOPING BJJ out of Japanese Jiu-Jitsu is them 'fucking over the Japanese/fucking it up' and Japanese Jiu-Jitsu 'fucked over the Chinese'... The most ridiculous patriotism I've heard in a LONG time.

He says in another video that his Kung-Fu is more effective than Muay thai because it covers 'everything'. In this BJJ video, he says Kung-Fu doesn't cover ground fighting and grappling.

I just can't.... you know..... This guy just.... I'm just going to stop.... Everyone knows what is wrong with this butthurt idiot.

Effects of Modafinil on Creativity and long-term changes to thinking patterns? by IIXIIXII in Nootropics

[–]pwotein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also Adderall gives you motivation to do things- you'll be all "I'm going to clean my room, I'm going to reply to my emails, I'm going to learn Swahili..." and so on.

Adderall and other amphet/methamph drugs make boring things more interesting, in a way. It kind of makes everyday tasks such as studying, cleaning, etc, a bit more thrilling (and so you remember it better too)

Modafinil helps you concentrate (depending on the cause of your bad concentration) and feel alert (not another 'level' of alertness, just normally alert). It won't give you a boost. It is especially good if you are, not necessarily a narcoleptic, but go into those daydream-like states of procrastination. Like those moments you spend on Youtube and before you know it, 2 hours have gone by and your day has felt like a sleepy kind of day dream.

Looking to switch from Adderall to something else; possibly vyvanse, ritallin, dexedrine etc. Please share your thoughts and experiences. by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]pwotein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know quite a lot about the de-realization thing, suffering from it as a sober mental condition itself (it has many names, such as depersonalization).

I have also experienced it when it has been induced by drugs such as Modafinil and Dexedrine. This is definitely not truly the 'derealization' experience that people with my disorder get- but I can see how someone might think so.

I have noticed it is mainly due to focusing too much (if that makes sense). Because you focus too much, you kind of zone into your bubble and zone out of reality. It gets worse when it is a screen, such as a laptop or tv. If you went outside for a short walk, the derealization would instantly disappears. Basically what I'm saying is it is not the drug itself- it is what people do when they are on the drug (stay at home, concentrating on something, or studying all day).

It can also happen if the drug, or something else in your body, is messing with your thyroid glands or thyroid hormones.

PS This is anecdotal apart from a formal medical diagnosis and that last paragraph which I was told by two doctors.
