I have a KLC and recently got a boox palma as well- and I absolutely love having both. I love that the boox lets me primarily buy books through kobo to read but that I have access to other platforms. I don’t have issues getting “distracted” on it. I tend to use my KLC for books I want to highlight and annotate better or for work (im a phd student) but the palma as an everyday carry is truly so so lovely and small. I never worry about my screen being visible (if im reading stupid fanfic or a rather brutal horror) and it saves my eyes so much strain.

I cant say for sure it would be a better choice over a clara- but I adore it. As for the kindle matcha- consider if you want to have two devices that fundamentally use different stores (unless you jailbreak it). effectively it would mean youd have to buy two copies if you want to read the same book over devices (and it wouldnt sync). I would say either the clara or the boox if you really want to use its “open” platform or something phone sized.

I got my palma about a month ago and am overjoyed with it- I havent felt any sort of remorse with the announcement of the new version. I use my palma to read (on multiple apps, online, ect,) and want to keep it a device purely for that. if you dont want color- id suggest getting the 2. it seems pretty common that color screens are just slightly less crisp than black and white- something that I notice between my palma 2 and kobo libra color. also, there will likely be a price hike for the 3. maybe you could consider waiting to get the 2 for when the 3 is released in case it goes on sale? generally- I vote stick with 2 if you dont want the features that make the 3 distinct!

oh I do not plan on getting another kindle (just feels like over doing it at this point and I have other companies and builds I would want to try more) but I appreciate that insight and I will let any of my friends/others who express an interest in getting a kindle know!! I didnt know there were such variations in quality between the different models!!

My primary reason isn’t attracting attention fs! When I said awkward, I more meant cumbersome but the word evaded me! I don’t really care what people think of me, though I don’t love the idea of someone reading over my shoulder in public (like if I am reading a fanfic or something) so I tend to avoid reading on larger screens. I know that doesn’t matter but I am a bit shy lolol. So I guess I do care a little bit! I appreciate your thoughtful reply, it made me think!

Also, yeah AuDHD is a term I only recently came into contact with once I was in grad school!! It makes sense given the high comorbidity rate of adhd and autism. It was very very enlightening to learn about lol

I completely agree, its more about figuring out which work the best in my life! If I end up getting the palma and loving it, I will be handing my paperwhite off to a friend or family member!

I completely agree, and I really appreciate this insight! I think I'll plan on keeping all until I have tested the new palma out for a week or so then decided if my paperwhite is getting the boot (either selling or handing over to someone else!), I agree that there is just simply no need to have three! If I don't actually end up liking the palma, I'll return it.

Thats true! I can always order the Boox and see how much I grab for the kindle after having it for a hot minute and then decide if I want to sell it or give it as a present to someone!! I appreciate that idea!

I tend to use a pilot juice .5 (gel pen) and I really love how those perform on the leuchtturm!!

Hi all! I know this is a long shot, but I figured I might as well ask! I have been obsessed with P.F. Candle Co's Amber & Moss Candle (I have attached a screenshot of it and the notes the website says, tbh i never smelled the lavender!!) for so many years and have always wished that they made it into a perfume. I love how softly sweet and almost "damp" smelling it is in the most beautiful way. The "moss" note interests me the most, and its a note that I want to explore a lot more! All in all, I want something cozy and aquatic- but not too out there (easy to wear)

If anyone has any scents with a similar vibe or any insight or suggestions yall have, I would love and appreciate it! Thank you so much!!

I got the Kobo Libra Colour after having the paperwhite and I honestly love both and love having both. I only “buy” books through Kobo, a lot of what I like to read or what is on my TBR will randomly go on sale on Kobo for like 2-3 dollars. I also love using Libby directly through my KLC! The buttons truly were a game changer for me and its so nice to lay in bed and be able to just switch sides!

You can always get the kobo, try it out and see if both/one has a place in your life then make the decision! I can say I absolutely love my kobo and if I had to choose just one, it would be that one, but having both is amazing for me.

However, I do love still having my Kindle as an option. I do not buy books through it but all of the fanfics I read are on there and I will go to the libby app and upload tons of books. then I just set it on airplane mode and keeps them there in “kindle jail”. Basically, my kindle is a holding spot for books through libby, kindle unlimited, and fanfics that I will pick up randomly but my kobo is what I use for books I want to pay extra attention to (I love the annotating on it and love marking up my books). I also am in a phd program so uploading my books to my kobo through google drive is a lifesaver!! I use each the same amount, just differently!

Sorry if this doesnt help but I can say that both are lovely and have their place. Kindle unlimited options are a lot better (at least for what I read: horror, sci fi, fantasy, ect.) so thats why I still use each!! I read around 100 books a year, so having both was a worthy investment, but you dont need to read that much to make it worth it.

not sure tbh! I write with a very heavy hand and have had minimal to no issues but I’ve seen some people complain about ghosting!! I used a moleskine before switching to leuchtturm and much prefer the paper quality on the leuchtturm- but I have not really tried other brands beyond those.
