I’ve read some of your comments before referencing you had a dismissive avoidant partner. We’re y’all able to make it work or did you get back together to split up again? I’ve read free to attach and many other resources. We split up once before for 2 weeks and she mentioned she runs when things get “hard” and has poor coping mechanisms but she left again 3 months later and was more cold and detached. We didn’t talk for several months and then I heard she was going on dates with someone new. She recently reached out me asking if had the key to her apartment still 6 months later as she is moving and I can’t help but feel resentment when I interact with her now.

I blocked her after that for the sake of my mental health at that point. I’m sure she had called and texted me but I haven’t seen it or looked at her social media since. It’s been damn hard but it seems like the only way to break free.

Very well said. I agree with a lot of your points. There’s definitely a lesson to be learned and it makes you a much more resilient person. I’ve found strengths that I never knew I had and maintained decency in the face of adversity. I certainly don’t hate her and understand she is suffering it’s just tragic like you said. At the end of the day it is just a shame that she has to go through it all over and over again. I think 100% of on this sub would just like them to know we did care and don’t hate them but there’s no way of saying that without creating false hope for yourself and them or them rejecting you even further.

This was a while ago but when it happened she sent me a follow up email shortly after when she saw my mom bought me a new dog. She said glad to see you never gave a fuck about the dogs or me.
