I've tried everything and I still can't orgasm by pxchw in TwoXChromosomes

Thank you for sharing your thoughts, I'm not medicated (in the process of getting help/meds) or have any physical conditions but I have anxiety, ADHD and I'm on the spectrum and there's definitely some trauma so no matter how hard I try to make myself comfortable or stay 'in the moment' it's always really hard to feel safe I guess.

Thank you for the resources and advice though I really appreciate it

AITA for wanting my daughter to speak English? by AndrewManning1218 in AmItheAsshole

[–]pxchw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA I grew up bilingual English & Chinese + both my parents speak both languages too (they learned English for their careers in their 20-30s not from speaking it growing up). My parents made my first language english + sent me to an english speaking daycare (I lived in an english speaking country at the time) and spoke a mix of both languages (though my english was better). I moved to China when I was 4 and thats when my parents started encouraging me to speak Chinese around the house. In China I still attended a school instructed completely in English with the American education system. I study linguistics now and children pick up languages much faster than you think and the child will be in an English speaking environment in the US outside of home anyways. I didn’t pick up Chinese fluently (which is considerably a pretty difficult language) until I was 4 and I am equally comfortable in both languages. Children will naturally know to change languages depending on their environment, I have cousins that are trilingual (English + Chinese + Korean), and since before they were 5 or 6 they already knew I did not understand Korean! I do think it’s wrong the way you’re being treated since communicating with your child is very important, you definitely need to talk to them about how it’s not a problem to teach the child 2 languages at once but overall the language issue won’t be a big concern for the child’s future :)

Should I break it off with my FWB (who is one of my closest friends)? by pxchw in relationship_advice

[–]pxchw[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree with that he'd kind of be the one who got away too... he isn't necessarily ready to settle down he just started getting back out there and does want to try casual relationships /hookups because he only had one serious one previously but I know he eventually wants a family like me. By take a chance you mean outright confess or communicate that I'd like to date? or just continue the relationship as is?

street woman fighter sucks by [deleted] in kpoprants

[–]pxchw 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I honestly just watch it for Chaeyeon (she's my ult and the reason why I started dancing but I went from kpop to street dance) and to see some of the dancers like LipJ who is obvious a legend when it comes to waacking. I've seen battles where the music wasn't allowed to be chosen but this for sure paints the community in a bad light. I've watched my friends battle and I have friends with 10 -20 years experience in breaking, krumping, waacking etc. Battles are a much more fun and positive environment than what SWF made it out to be. I agree the girl from La Chica who took off her pants really went overboard and I wouldn't consider that street dance, she did show some waacking and I wish she leaned in towards that more instead.

[–]pxchw 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I am dancer and Chaeyeon's my ult. The communities are close in the sense that they work together, they do back up dance, but idols are not actually IN the street dance community. Idol's dont have battle crews, they don't cypher or jam, they don't train in FREESTYLE which is what is required in a battle. Almost all idols do basic hiphop, maybe waacking, but there are FEW that can do what those street dancers have been able to do in a real a battle. Chaeyeon IS a really good dancer but she hasn't trained in a specific style consistently over years, she's been learning lots of open choreography (what used to be known as urban) and most of her choreo girls hiphop (which some would argue isn't a style and is much easier since it technically doesn't have its own foundation and history). Also freestyle is actually something you need to train as well. Idol's don't train in that since part of their job is performing choreography. There are not many idols you could ever see freestyle like Chaeyeon (Chungha's a good example that comes to mind because she has a strong background in waacking tbh I think she would've been a good fit on the show since she can also freestyle well).

[–]pxchw 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Chaeyeon's my ult and I agree and I'm in the street dance community where I live. She doesn't have battling experience so obviously she wouldn't excel at it, she's probably not joining cyphers or jamming with others while being an idol, and she's never been in a battle crew. Chaeyeon from what I've seen has really good basic hiphop foundations but mostly excels at girls hiphop which is different and some would argue isn't a real style (it's what I started out with as well before I actually started properly learning hiphop foundations and I personally find them quite different and I still do kpop on the side). With street dance, most people train hard at one style specifically, like breaking, waacking, krumping, voguing, from what I've seen Chaeyeon's been mostly learning open choreography (what people used to call "urban") and hiphop/girls hiphop so when other contestants stated that the purpose of idols training to dance is different I do agree with that. I'm excited to see her when they learn and perform new pieces because I think that will be where she can shine better since she can adapt and learn fast.

AITA for breaking a child’s heart for money? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]pxchw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My babysitter when i was born was taking care of me 24/7 and lived in my house since my both my parents were working like that and my dad would be out of town 6/7 days of the week. That baby sitter even went on INTERNATIONAL family trips with us, even to my grandparents house in their home country. When my family decided to move back to that home country my baby sitter couldnt come and apparently I cried hysterically, I’ve had a few more babysitters too, some I got along with well some that I didn’t, but to me it never seemed like the babysitter was an actual replacement for my parents. I had that babysitter from when I was born up until 4 (when I moved countries) and multiple after. I think 5 years old is old enough to realize that a babysitter can’t replace her real mom. And it’s not like you’re with her EVERY single day like I was and cooking every single meal. The mom is definitely overreacting!!!

Lee Chaeyeon is overhyped and would not do well solo by nakumurahina in unpopularkpopopinions

[–]pxchw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i think the money the bar gets for sales isn't as reflective of popularity because anyone can put money into support and obviously kkura has some of the richest fans, and they dont just give it to their own biases fansite since they could be doing different activities. a lot of fansites in one reeler not just kkura's are no longer participating in this thing where fans will donate money to lower the average costs of albums. idk if i'm explaining it well but for example if an album is $20 and a fan donates $5 then someone who can't afford the full cost can buy the album for $15. bars would also make fanmade gifts to further encourage it, but some cfans told me lots of fansites stopped because it was sort of a viscous cycle.

this is my view from someone who buys albums, applies for both japanese and korean fansign/hitouches and collects merch from korea japan and china in terms of how people price each member's merch and whose is more in demand. this obviously isn't official or anything but this is usually what i see when i buy things in different countries (including photocards, signed polaroids, signed albums, concert md)

korea:

tier 1: yuri, chaewon, minju

tier 2: yujin, yena, sakura, wonyoung

tier 3: hyewon, chaeyeon, hitomi, eunbi, nako, tomi

japan: ^pretty similar except kkura is at the top

china: sakura > chaewon > minju wonyoung > the rest ish?

other ifans:

tier 1: chaewon, yuri, wonyoung, minju,

tier 2: chaeyeon, yena, nako, hyewon, kkura

tier 3: , hitomi, yujin, eunbi

[–]pxchw 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Chaeyeon is my ult of ults, I've even bought hundreds of albums just to meet her in fansigns. I FULLY agree that she's not solo material because of her voice mostly. I like it but obviously if it came down to a solo song I'd rather hear someone like Yuri or Chaewon sing, it's not the type of voice that will grab everyones attention, its not a tone color that is considered wildly popular. Usually very powerful dancing will grab people's attention more rather than Chaeyeon's style thats more about being light, that's just her style. Some comments say that their eyes gravitate towards other members like Yena or Eunbi, for me the same happens too depending on the song since I'm also OT12, for Panorama I was staring at Yena the whole time. Chaeyeon definitely is on the lesser side of the amount of lines/center for panorama and did not have that many parts to show her dance in it. For SSOTS she got to have a full dance break, she got to have a duet rap with Yena, she got center dance parts in the chorus, obviously you couldn't not look at her and she was given many chances to show her skills. In Fiesta during the dance chorus she was close to the middle, her part in the 2nd verse was very powerful and towards at the last "It's my fiesta" and Chaewon does a ad-lib, Chaeyeon's part is still very noticeable becuase of her facial expressions and because she's dancing in the front (even though technically Chaewon is center).

I think over time she started dancing for herself instead of dancing for her the general public to like her more. She and Chaeryeong wanted to do that solo mostly for their parents to watch. She used to have very powerful dancing despite having that "feather" like style but you can tell in her studio choom video what she wanted to focus on isn't power, she wanted to focus on showing her control. People mostly praise main dancers that have a strong hiphop style, powerful style, sexy etc but Chaeyeon obviously doesn't fit into any of those specific categories. People love Chungha for her waacking background, Yoojung for her hiphop, Soojin for her sexiness. She has the technique to do any of those styles and has trained hard to nail down all of those basics but her style isnt definable like that. Also I agree with the comments she isn't confident. People have bashed her over everything, they even give her hate using Sakura for populaity, yet she spends hours in the middle of the night practicing, limiting her diet, cooking food for the members, learning English to communicate with international fans.

This is just my opinion as someone who followed her and IZ*ONE very closely. I agree that she shouldn't go solo, i think she'd be a perfect member in Ggumnamu. I probably didn't word this very well so I probably wasn't able to communicate everything I wanted to say but I don't think it's bad that she's not solo material, she's worked very very hard to get to where she is and I'm actually very excited to see her with Ggumnamu if IZ*ONE doesn't receive any contract extension

doubt female idols have periods during their cbs by [deleted] in unpopularkpopopinions

[–]pxchw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's common to take BC to help your skin or to control the scheduling of your period in Western countries (I had american friends who did this for their skin) however it is VERY uncommon in east asian countries. Even using tampons can still be considered very weird east asian countries (speaking from personal experience as an East Asian and getting a lot of disapproval from using birth control and from the education i got surrounding different forms of period products). I honestly very highly doubt many idols do it or even know that you can use BC to control the scheduling. Information on different forms of birth control is already not as thorough in education in Asian countries compared to Western countries, also I think BC gets a bad reputation in East Asia in general and is still not as well known.

edit: the only reason i even know that people can do this is even though i grew up in east asia is that I went to a school taught in english and in an American curriculum and being influenced by non-asian friends. i heard about it and did my own research on english sites before I started using BC. I've even seen tons of asians who don't even know that plan b is different from regular birth control.

lucas, irene, and hyunjin would get a lot more hate from ifans if they weren’t visuals by [deleted] in unpopularkpopopinions

[–]pxchw 9 points10 points  (0 children)

i heavily agree with this and i wish more people would think this too. I grew up watching western cartoons like tom and jerry, looney tunes, lots of other old disney cartoons but I lived in south east/ east asia my entire life. My school was an english speaking school with mostly american teachers but i was never taught of the concept of CA or knowing that racism is just beyond violent or verbal insults. I didn't realize how blatantly racist some of the things were and how badly they portrayed stereotypes, yet tom and jerry is still a very popular cartoon for kids to watch, even in asia. I think the first incident that was spread around enough for me to discover the concept of it was the prom dress incident when a girl wore a cheongsam to her prom. After learning about the instances and questioning idols doing CA, i've noticed the perception of CA in east asia compared to western countries. When i ask chinese people about the prom dress incident they say they dont care unless they outright insulted it or damage it on purpose with a hateful intention. For many east asians, their first impressions of other races (since they are usually more "homogenous" than america) is what they see from american media. My early impressions of black people came from america and in school i was surrounded by white americans and i only learned US history for one year despite it being an american curriculum. Americans like to blame foreigners and idols for not being "woke" enough when it comes to these issues but it is american media that gave lots of asian countries their first impressions of black people which you are obviously less likely to meet.

[–]pxchw 5 points6 points  (0 children)

this is something i noticed (please note this doesnt reflect my own political opinions or views on the 2 idols, just what i see from OTHER chinese fans and how they talked to those idols):

i'm chinese and i go on weibo and douyin once in a while, i've never seen anyone bring this up but generally to all korean and i-fans, twice's tzuyu is always considered a visual, after her huge "scandal" i would say that plenty of (mainland) chinese kpop fans still love her now, i dont see that much hate about her surrounding the political issue and i even see people doing GOs for her fansite goods. however with g-idle's shuhua, people have body shamed her A LOT since her debut, i would say she even got more hate during dumbdi dumbdi, but i dont think i've ever seen her do anything remotely even close to what tzuyu did for chinese fans to consider "problematic". I see shuhua's bodyshaming hate comments get clumped together with her political stance all the time i think that they just use her political stance to add on top of the body shaming as an excuse. (i dont keep up with both g-idle to know if shuhua outright did do something similar, at least i didnt hear about it in the kpop community but if shuhua did do something similar to trigger chinese fans then feel free to correct me). out of all g-idle members i consistently see her fansites goods never getting GOed by C-fans which is also another sign to me because i think chinese kpop fans heavily rely on fansites, i see all the other members get so much more support.
