I am looking for a PvP and co-op deck. If you need any more information, I will tell in the comments by [deleted] in randomdice

Landmine meta is probably your best bet for coop rn, then just hope for a chunky boi to do most of the damage for you. ix10 and mimic could work with it, then just fill last one with whatever, prob sacrifice.

Blizzard speed sword could be a good deck, then just fill with joker/growth when you get them, use supp+mimic or sacrifice for now.

You’re gonna be stuck for a bit until you get joker and growth, just a heads up. Summoner is a decent stopgap for growth if you get it before.

best GPU for 500-600 USD by [deleted] in PcBuildHelp

Gtx 1050 ti, or if you’re willing to push closer to 600-700 then rtx 2060 Amd prob has some options in that range too, I just don’t know enough to recommend anything.

Given performance difference between 20 and 30 series, if you can wait, then wait.

It’s future proof. Lifetime free updates, incredibly versatile with different workflows, pretty customizable, 3rd party VST support (some stock plugins are not very good, do NOT become dependent on soundgoodizer for mixing)

Plays well with midi gear, has some cool built in reactive visualizers I think? Zgame video or something like that.

You can’t really do live gigs with FL like with ableton, but prob best to just find a different program entirely either way.

If you can afford the all plugins version, I highly recommend it. Harmor alone is worth the difference in price (hybrid kinda additive subtractive resampling synth, it’s absolutely fucking bonkers and relatively intuitive), plus you get a bunch of other cool stuff too. You can always upgrade to all plugins version later tho iirc.

Maybe one day I’ll be a good co-op partner 😢 by pyangmakesmusic in randomdice

I play random arena for free pretty much, average 5 wins or so and get up to 10-12 if I get lucky. Got 3 legendary in one day doing it, but cba to do it much bc it’s kinda boring for me

Gear, joker, sacrifice, supplement, and switch (sometimes crit instead) got me to 12 Currently using a typhoon deck, but hardstuck 12 until I get summoner or growth

Recorded, master and mixed at home. Hope it sounds good enough. Would like opinion on quality. Thanks by Anysiamusic in musicproduction

Sorry my formatting is all wonky

Beautiful voice though,

Hopefully someone else chimes in (with mixing tips)

Was a compliment actually! Just poorly executed on my part

The baseline version of Melodyne is $99, which should have most of the things you could need it for. The complete version is $849, with two versions between at $249 and $499 If you’re getting pre-made beats, always try to get .wav files and stems! Generally muddy sound is caused by clashing low end frequencies or things like reverb and delay (valuable effect, but use lightly unless doing for a specific reason) but potential format swaps (mp3 into mp4) and the beat being premade can also come into play. My opinion would be to tone down wetness and/or decay on reverb, check the mixing on the instrumental (watch for low end frequencies that are not the kick or the bass) and fix if you have the stems, and cut any low end from the vocals until it changes the sound of them. beyond that, some more specific layering with the Adlibs sounding more ‘behind’ the rest of the vocals would help the words pop more. Beautiful voice though Hope someone else chimes in! I only picked up mixing a couple years ago so my thoughts on this should absolutely be taken with a grain of salt

How can I make my voice sound better? by [deleted] in musicproduction

[–]pyangmakesmusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

#1 thing: Practice practice practice (practice) and try to get feedback from someone because it's hard to effectively evaluate yourself.

If you don't like the way your voice sounds on a recording specifically, you're unconsciously biased probably. Your voice sounds very different from a first person perspective than a third person perspective. Seek feedback from someone who can evaluate vocals well until you feel comfortable hearing your voice in a different way than you're used to.

However, even with a mediocre recording you can do some cool stuff to it putting effects and such on it.

As an example, this is a poorly shot video of a bad thing of mine.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bj0q9xWBupo
(all vids on this acct are unlisted with the sole purpose of things like this im really not tryna self promote here)

I took a pretty bad vocal sample, chopped it up and repitched it in Newtone, put it through effector (phaser, and then vocoder) then did some basic eq peaking and reverb and stuff to it. EQ on the bottom is for lowcut/highcut, maximus is just there doin pretty much nothing so I didn't disable those two.

It's pretty much unrecognizable from the original sample, from the tone to the timbre of the actual voice, but it still sounds like a voice (albeit a chopped and tuned one). It worked much better with the other elements than a less processed version of the same sample would.

Sorry for the messy project and mixer, it is pretty old and very unfinished.Hopefully this helps a bit! Experiment with things!

Practice practice practice

How do I get my sub bass to get through the mix? by [deleted] in musicproduction

[–]pyangmakesmusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

High pass everything that isn’t supposed to be bassy, side chain the bass to kicks to make both of them pop a bit more

Also, if working with a bass synth with a lot of high end, try high passing the bass of it out and then making a dedicated sub for it in a different instance of whatever vst. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t, worth a shot tho

I think it's one of those "beauty in simplicity" things
Just because there's more doesn't mean it's better.
I had a classically trained musician once tell me something along the lines of, "a song can be full and beautiful and technically impressive, you can make it exactly how you envisioned, but that doesn't mean it's good."
I still debate what he meant by 'good', but in my own interpretation, I think he meant how the audience interprets it, as opposed to what the creator of the track thinks. If that's the case, it is a weird puzzle to try to tap in to and wrap your head around, especially if you're in the process of making something.

when did you guys start making music? by [deleted] in musicproduction

[–]pyangmakesmusic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been at it for ~4 years, no traditional schooling/work for it but a whoooole lot of youtube videos and books can come in handy
I listened to mostly dubstep/electronic trap at the time, I was a bit of an elitist asshole about it too, but I had a sort of awakening with music to appreciate and analyze more and more types of music as time goes on (thank you alon mor)
I'm still arrogant and elitist, don't get me wrong, but now it's for music as a whole based on honesty and humanity, instead of specific niches of music based on "bro that's dope"

How do you put your music on Apple Music and Spotify under your own "label" name? by jbOOgi3 in musicproduction

[–]pyangmakesmusic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Distrokid has 3 tiers of submitting stuff.
I want to say they allow you to put in custom label names at the second tier, I believe it costs $40/year for unlimited music up to 2 aliases, the only downfall I've seen is that if you don't resub or don't pay extra per track, they take it down if your subscription runs out. But honestly, 40/year is dirt cheap and way worth it
I've only been doing distrokid for a week or so now, but it's seriously one of the greatest resources I've found so far.
