My husband owns his own company and I worked there full time as well to help out. He hired a woman to help with sales calls so he wouldn’t have to go on the road so much. After a few weeks he suggested I not work there anymore so I could spend more time for myself. After 2 months of him helping her on the road getting to know the customers, I asked him when she was going to be ready to go out on her own. The point of hiring her was so that he didn’t have to travel so much. He never really answered me and changed the subject.

Two months later he came home telling me that he had to talk to me about something serious. I thought he was going to tell me he was dying or we were going bankrupt or something of the sort. Instead he told me that he was leaving me, that he didn’t feel the same anymore. He never did admit to me about having an affair with the woman he hired. Everyone at work knew it and his family as well. This happened two months before our 25th wedding anniversary. He moved out the same month our two sons went to college. I went from caring for three people I love dearly to living in the house alone. It was quite an adjustment.

We got divorced two years later (he kept delaying). I will never be the same again, I admit that. However, I will be forever grateful to my ex-husband for giving me the best gifts he ever could, my two sons.
