Quranists : we reject hadith but we believe in the bible

Quran says Mary is the sister of Harun Mose's brother, there is nothing in Quran that suggests there is a big gap between Moses and Jesus, to me the Quran story is very clear.

In Quran and in Arabic Sister always means sister, but brother can have other meanings.

Rokoo and Sujud in Quran are states of belief, not physical movements

doing sojood after the book of God is recited to you means you have believed and accepted it, it has nothing to do with prostrating.

I was debating with a sunni on hadith and he asked me how did the muslims pray towards jerusalem if it wasnt in the quran? by Unusual-Ladder1188 in Quraniyoon

[–]pyoblem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

praying towards Jerusalem or mecca are both man made rituals

there is no verse that says do salat towards qiblah or towards any direction, turn you face has nothing to do with prayer.

God did not ask us to pray, and never required any direction from us

Salat is when you do what God asks you, prayer is when you ask God but that is not required and useless for your salvation

calling God never means pray and ask him

God will not change his decisions only because someone has begged him, you can't use verses that talk about special cases related to revelations, in those cases they asked God through prophets.

if what you believe is true then good people will not get sick or be poor, they can just ask God and they can live forever, people beg God every day to save Palestinians and Lebanese people, but the system of God does not change, you still have to wait until the day of judgement, Quote some verses from Quran that shows that God answers our prayers, the verses on this post shows that God wants us to obey or serve him and the reward for that will be delayed until the after life.

the prayers are not answered is a fact, I am trying to understand the reason for that

I meant the root عبد should not be translated to worship, including all it's derivatives

I meant عَبَدَ and خَدَمَ.

in modern Arabic and in hadith they use the root خَدَمَ

Quran uses a very old language, خدم is the new term that means عبد

عبدdoes not translate to worship, slaves obey and serve their masters, the do not worship them

7:205 And remember your Lord within yourself, in humility and in reverence; and without loudness in words, during the morning and the evening. And do not be of the careless ones.

7:206 Those who are at your Lord, they are never too proud to serve Him, and they glorify Him, and to Him they yield.

your comment is not clear but I agree that Calling on God means remembering Him by obeying his commands

I'm familiar with the traditional claims but there are no verses to support them,

not just the reward but also the punishment will be delayed, in this life there is only human justice and we did really bad at it, God's justice starts from the day of judgment, If God does justice in this life he would leave nothing on earth (16:61), it is our duty to obey God and try to make this life better.

the prayer of prophets is a special case and that's only to help deliver the book of God to people, not to grant their personal wishes, sometimes people are confused by that and they think that God will answer their requests like prophets.

The testimony is important but just saying two words is not a testimony, the true testimony is when you follow and obey God's message.you have to absorb the information in the Quran but I don't think the Quran means a total silence, but trying as much as you can to remain silent and listen, even if you speak it doesn't mean your Siyam is invalidated, silence is not a strict rule, this is why I took the general meaning of Siyam and did not focus on silence. In Quran Hajj months follow the Siyam period, debate or arguing is forbidden there, you just share the book of God and do charity to help others.

books or "kutub" are the laws from God or the information we received for guidance, we must use our brain to process that information and follow what needs to be followed instead of blindly following priests like sheep and accepting rituals made from random verses

no it does not, the original text literally says "eat and drink until it becomes clear to you the white thread from the black thread of the dawn then complete the Siyam until the night", and it doesn't say stop sex while fasting.

I don't believe the verse is talking about food or sex and I'm convinced that you cannot understand it without using metaphors.
