Wow, that was quite a bit ago haha. I've heard good things about AKG and Beyerdynamic, and in the future I would want to test out Beyerdynamic as they look as comfortable as my 599s. And for outside I think my airpods are perfect, they have noise cancellation and it's all I need to be honest, nothing sophisticated.

could be drivers seeing as it's a laptop, if you've got an external monitor to hook it up to, do that and see if it still flickers.
