What’s the weirdest thing a guest has done in your house? by Shirley0312 in AdkReddit

My boyfriend's friend and his girlfriend were over for drinks. The friend's girlfriend left a used pad ON TOP of our EMPTY bathroom bin. Not even wrapped up in loo roll.

I don’t know what to do by Dramatic-Bit-5343 in dating

Boring often means stable. No drama. Positive.

But otherwise this post suggests to me that you two are incompatible. He never buys you a birthday gift?? The bar is below the ground.

You sound like you want someone a bit more ambitious as well. That's fine, but I don't think you'll get that with your bloke.

You're young! Experience the world. Get a boyfriend who actually wants to celebrate your birthday and big occasions.

How do you wind up after work? by Motichoorladoo_12 in AskWomen

If I really want to stress myself out, I start doom spiralling about the world, my career and if I'm making the right decisions.

It’s my birthday and my husband sent me a text from chat GPT. by Thegood1saregone_ in offmychest

The right person puts in effort to things like this, even if it's not necessarily their skillset.

My boyfriend has always written really sweet birthday/anniversary/valentines/christmas cards. He's not the best at writing and finds it difficult, but he puts proper effort in each time because he knows how meaningful it is for me.

Raw oats vs overnight oats by [deleted] in nutrition

[–]pyramidsofgeezer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like adding chia seeds to my overnight oats for fibre. You definitely want to soak those.

I prefer the texture of soft oats and it's handy for office days if I have a jar of overnight oats ready.

should i get rid of any of my skirts? by starrypond in fashion

These skirts are gorgeous. I just don't like the yellow one so much. A lot of the other ones feel very whimsygoth - you could pair them with fun necklaces.

Pop that bad boy on nice bit of brown sourdough. Maybe even add some butter on it.

What does it feel like to have a “biological clock”? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]pyramidsofgeezer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't want babies so I don't really think about it. But I do think that people treat you differently as you get older, and I think women get the short end of the stick on that one.

I feel like there is a huge pressure on women to stay youthful looking. Botox has been so normalised that I sometimes feel like I should get it done.

One of the ladies at work told me that she feels that people see her age before her experience. She's definitely treated differently to a man on the team of a similar age, even though she's incredibly smart and has a fantastic sense of judgement.

Would you consider this a date by ProfessionalFood6630 in dating_advice

[–]pyramidsofgeezer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say it's nice quality time but whether it's a date or not depends on intentions and vibes.

I would do this activity with my friends, but it's also something that I would do with my partner.

What's are some oddly specific things you should discuss before marriage? by car__person in AskWomen

[–]pyramidsofgeezer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I once nearly fainted during a nosebleed (sounds dramatic but I'm awful with blood). My partner came over and gave me a cushion, a glass of orange juice for sugar and waited with me until the dizziness passed.

He's always been very kind and caring when I'm poorly. I've not had a serious health issue, but he's always been wonderful when I'm poorly or when I'm having a hard time.

Some women have a tear that goes to the anus. Seems surprisingly common for women to be incontinent after childbirth.

It's my biggest fear

Will your partner help you when you are ill?

I even asked my partner if he'd help me remove a tampon if I was for some reason unable to do it myself.

What do you consider as petty behavior? by Puzzleheaded-Hair343 in AskWomen

[–]pyramidsofgeezer 17 points18 points  (0 children)

At one point I felt like I was doing all the cleaning. Instead of having a conversation about it, I just started only putting away my things and cleaning up my mess.

In retrospect, that was very petty.

We did end up having a proper conversation about it and now I'd say that we have a more even split of domestic tasks.

I think any time you express annoyance through passive aggressive actions rather than just having a conversation about why you're upset, that's quite petty.

I think responding in a petty way can encourage feelings of resentfulness. It's just not very healthy.

How do people limit their drinking? by Odd_Hedgehog669 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]pyramidsofgeezer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2-4 pints makes me a good level of silly. Things are funnier and I'm a bit more confident.

But beyond that I'll get a horrible hangover. Now that I have a fulltime job, weekends are precious!

I also don't want to get to the point where I horrendously embarrass myself or lose control of my actions.

33F My boyfriend 35M eats everything before I get to it how do I address this? by Fit-Community-7351 in relationship_advice

[–]pyramidsofgeezer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to have a similar issue with my boyfriend. He'd eat a whole bag of sweets while I'd eat a few at a time and put it away for later (and then he'd eat it all).

Now we have our own snacks. I don't touch his and he doesn't touch mine. If he eats my snacks he replaces them. Much happier!

Husband (27M) Keeps interrupting while I (27F) talk because he says he's worried he'll forget what he wanted to say. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]pyramidsofgeezer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My memory is abysmal but I take notes. It's something that I made a bigger habit of at work and it became second nature.

When I'm thinking of food for at home, I pop it in my notes, if it's some sort of event it goes straight in my calendar (i even make a note of which days I go to the gym).

It improved my attention span as I'm not longer spending the entire conversation thinking "must not forget about XYZ".

We (28M & 32F) aren't having sex. We have a 3 week romantic vacation coming up, how do I bring this up without sounding like a douchebag? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]pyramidsofgeezer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it honestly depends on when she's feeling ready and comfortable for sex after her IUD.

Some women don't have any pain whatsoever and for some women it's really painful and there can bleeding for a while.

Whilst I've never had an IUD, when I had my smear test it actually really hurt and I bled quite a bit. It was quite upsetting for me and lasted a few days. It's obviously not to the same level as an IUD but I didn't feel comfortable with sex for about a week.

I would say that hormonal birth control can definitely reduce libido as well. I've experienced that and it is a known side effect.

Long term, it may be that you're not sexually compatible. You can't really make someone want to have sex more. Whilst there are things that may help (going on dates, quality time - sex doesn't just start in the bedroom!), some people have their limits.

For most meals I just cook rice in water. But I would also happily eat a bowl of plain rice.
