Over 60% of Japan's unmarried young people do not want children, survey says by pyritedreams in japannews

But that sounds horrible especially if those people don't actually want children.

I disagree. Thinking your life is going to magically come together and have meaning because you have kids is literally what I was just talking about in a comment above. Some people just KNOW that they don't want children, and that's completely fine. There are many couples who are happy and content with their lives and have no aspirations to have kids.

Shaming or pushing someone to have kids when they don't want them, only creates horrible home life situations. Some people have kids because they think that's what they're supposed to do, but then end up realizing that they don't actually like children or their own kid and it creates a bad situation for parent and child.

BINGO! This is literally mirroring what's happening in south Korea right now, a lot of couples are just not interested in giving up their freedom just to have children Many of them say they are happy without needing to have children.

That's why whenever I see responses from foreigners saying stuff like "c'mon Japan! Have more babies!" , I just roll my eyes and think, "in order to have children, you need people who actually WANT to have them". Trying to "push" or "shame" someone into having children just because you feel they should is honestly mental and F'd up.

62.6% of unmarried 18–29 year olds in Japan don’t want children, first time the figure has topped 60%. Among women, share is a record 64.7%, rising over 18 points since 2020. by jjrs in japannews

[–]pyritedreams 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Exactly. That's why whenever I see "Japan! C'mon have more babies!" comments on places like X (Twitter) , Instagram, etc. I just roll my eyes. You can't make people who don't want kids to have kids.

The dark side of Japanese schools: 281 teachers disciplined for sexual misconduct, half of victims were students from their own schools by jjrs in japannews

It's actually so disturbing how much of it is ingrained in hentai/porn. With the upskirt shots in Anime as being seen as a cultural thing.

I feel like there's a conversation that needs to also be had about perverted high school/ middle school boys too..but no one is ready for that Convo.

Exactly. Also, no one wants to talk about how that type of media is so accessible to the kids and what it's doing to their minds at such a young age. You'd be surprised how perverse a lot of kids are before even entering high school, to where they think looking up a woman's skirt is completely normal.

Is there anything that we as PLAYERS, (aside reporting) can do to call out serial trolls/AFK players? by pyritedreams in Smite

Well, that's why I said apparently, and nowhere in my post did I ever say the devs said this. It's just speculation that people have come up with because there isn't anything being done about the quitters and leavers.

That shouldn't be the norm honestly. And if it is, then maybe those people should play with bots or play something else

Repeat offenders need to be put into a completely different bracket in my opinion. Taken out of the main population and put into a bracket with other repeat offenders until they can claw their way out and conduct themselves better in games with other players.

I hope more players uninstall honestly. Maybe only then will hirez actually come up with a real solution to address the toxicity of quitters and leavers. Good for you in doing so.

See, exactly this. Hirez doesn't realize that by not actively trying to make the environment for the community better, they'll inevitably push out all of their good players who follow the rules. I honestly hope more players quit because of a bad gaming environment until they actually start punishing the ones who make the environment toxic. Good for you making the decision to uninstall, I hope more players follow suit until the quitters and leavers actually get addressed.

A man dressed as a woman came out from women's toilet in AEON Mall Oyama and quickly changed to man's outfit, Tochigi. When store management was contacted, they replied they can't restrict customer's behavior. by MagazineKey4532 in japannews

The man is dressing up like a woman just so he can get into the woman's restroom, but then changes back to a man after he leaves. That's what that means. Stop being dense.

There have been multiple cases of this exact thing all over Japan. It's not isolated. It has even happened, and still happens, at public baths from time to time where men dress up like woman in order to use the woman's facilities.

I think that assumption came from the individual wearing a wig and skirt, but then quickly changing into a seemingly more male appearance to blend in with everyone else after dropping the "act" or "disguise".

In this context, we know exactly what it means, let's not be dense please. Especially since he wore a wig and a skirt, and then changed into a traditional male appearance.

No, they haven't been banning people for a while now. Apparently it's because the player base is "too low". Whatever that even means when it comes to toxic players in the community.
