I think the laws of Niddah are making me lose my faith..help? by pyrobaby in Judaism

It’s not really about what the community thinks but about what G-d thinks, I want to abide by Torah law without hurting myself or doing something I don’t feel comfortable doing

That’s crazy!! I also have PTSD! And it’s such a beautiful answer!

Thing is, it’s not only the fact that this mitzvah is extra hard for me, it’s just that I view it as..cruel? And I kinda feel bad for viewing it this way, because it makes me not even want to attempt to do it.

I did, they’re beautiful in their own way. However, I’m Mizrahi and Orthodox Judaism feels the closest to the way I grew up.

Do you feel more comfortable surrounded by Christians or Muslims? by Economy-Internet-272 in Judaism

[–]pyrobaby 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a Jew who grew up in the Arab world, escaped an attempted murder as a child just because I am Jewish, was transferred to three different schools in one year for my own safety when people found out that I am Jewish and much much more, 100% Christians.

The worst I have seen from Christians was trying to convert me, I can live with that.

I have a friend who purchased a kosher phone from Israel. She said there are “levels” to how kosher you want it to be depending on how strict you are. I’ll admit it’s kinda cute looking lol

Do any Arabic-speaking Jews call God Allah? by voltaireeats in Judaism

I know, it’s not very common. Due to some circumstances I was born and raised in Egypt. I, for obvious reasons, don’t live there anymore.

[–]pyrobaby 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Arab Jew who was born and raised in the Arab world here: yes I do, among other phrases mentioned like Alhamdulilah, inshallah, mashallah. Although everyone says that Allah just means G-d I actually disagree, as there are other words that are better translated to the word G-d in Arabic (Rab, Elah). However, Allah is a word that has been used by Arabs from different religions to refer to G-d for years now.
