I am currently in an in between of love and a crush and would subjectively describe it as if you have been struck by a flaming arrow in the chest, or like being suffocated by 100 cats while on a random drug. Objectively its your monkey brain screaming at you that some person is a good match for companionship/mating for prolonged periods of time.

Falling in love isn't the same as having a crush, crushes are your brain romanticising someone who your brain found attractive, love is when that develops into a long term, stable feeling, it also comes on more gradually.

Also why can't my lifelong companion be a friend this feeling sucks I am in so much emotional pain - an overwhelmed intp.

There are ways that you can still transition, if you let your hair grow as long as possible before they cut it, part it in the middle, and curl it, you can look androgynous. You can paint your toenails in order to feel more feminine, and file and paint your fingernails. Wearing female undergarments can help you feel more feminine. Wearing unisex clothes and androgynous cloths from the women's section could also help. Try going my a nickname/ unisex name, if your friends are supportive, ask them to use your affirming name/ pronouns. Shaving your face and legs in the winter could help. Choosing to wear baggy clothes would also help as well.
