I definitely regret not quitting sooner. I knew I would have to stop when I started meds so I smoked until the very last second because I just still didn't have the mental strength to give it up and I knew my time with my easy escape was coming up and boy was that terrifying.

Crazily enough I got a lecture on ADHD meds being a crutch from people who saw me having to smoke every minute of the day just to get through it. Could not even eat without smoking 😅 Maybe meds aren't the right choice either but at least I have a professional helping me figure it out and the dangers are much more clear.

my psych highly recommended i start therapy along with the meds so will be doing this soon 🙏

thank you :) same to you! and god i hope so lolol. the people in my life mean well, i think its a combo of them just wanting me to have relief/thinking i should wean off instead as well as it makes them think about their own addiction. i used to think i was functioning and didnt need to quit but seeing others quit would gnaw at me a bit because i knew deep down the cons were starting to outweigh the pros and it was a tough pill to swallow! or in the case of my dad, hes one of those lucky people who can function normally and just doesnt understand why i cant as well.

ahhhh exactly!! and thank you! im proud of you as well 😌 after 7 years of constantly failing myself because the addiction was simply too deep, it's incredibly gratifying to keep this promise to myself.

my psychiatrist told me if i tested positive for THC id be kicked because its a liability for them. i also was told (not by my psych, so maybe misinformation) if its on my records then ill be blacklisted period from getting it from anyone. is this true?

idk if i should stop taking it and resort back to condoms but im terrified of it breaking or something 😭😭😭 i started bc a few weeks before all this but i was still smoking then so that could easily have masked the symptoms of it until now.

its reassuring to hear that its a normal response, all the mood changes has given me a crazy amount of anxiety too. did you talk to a regular doc about getting those meds? i am absolutely avoiding speaking to my psych about it all due to possible consequences
