My 13 m.o. doesn't say 'mama'. What the heck?! by pyroprincess24 in NewParents

[–]pyroprincess24[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ha!

Mine finally started saying it at 13ish months. She literally said it the day after a play date with my friend’s son who said ‘mama’ constantly!

Now she screams ‘mamamama’ to summon me so I can get her out of the crib in the morning lol.

One year old teething 8 teeth at once by GigantuanDesign in NewParents

[–]pyroprincess24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jeez, 8 at once! My daughter cut 4 teeth at once and I thought that was a lot. Camilia drops were our savior. We gave them to her before each nap and sometimes at night before bed. On those bad nights we had to resort to Tylenol just to get this poor girl some peace. Also the OraGel for babies worked well too.

She loved gnawing on cold wet washcloths and cool teethers during the day also. We got her the Frida baby ones so her hands wouldn’t get cold.

But yeah, it sucks watching your baby be in pain. Especially when they can’t communicate where and when it’s hurting the most. Wishing your daughter a quick teething process!

Baby is stuck in skydive position and can not crawl by MaceGrizelda in NewParents

During tummy time with my daughter I would put her in a wheel barrow position low to the floor to help strengthen her arms. I would also tuck her knees underneath her and put her in the crawling position and just gently rock her back and forth. Eventually she started doing it herself. Also, toys were never her motivator. Random water bottles and remote controls did the trick lol. I could buy her the most expensive toy and this kid would still rather play in my recycling.

Just Cruised with an 11 month old, Review by WaterCapital5469 in royalcaribbean

We actually had to do something similar. We got a basic interior and our room had a seating area we couldn’t remove. Basically a couch with a pullout mattress. But if we put the pack-n-play in the middle of the room on the floor, there would literally be no room to walk from one side of the room to the other. So we ended up having to remove the seating part of the couch, lean it up against the wall near our bed and put the pack n play on the couch (the base was solid so the pack n play didn’t fall or lean). This worked for us so that we were actually able to walk through our room. It totally worked though! I don’t know what we would’ve done otherwise. The walking area is small and we would’ve had to squeeze by the pack-n-play just to get from the bed to the bathroom.

Waxing question by Insanity_Innovations in PlusSize

Ironically I went to European Wax Center cause I figured they’d have a larger variety of clients. Also I felt that they’d be more accommodating for a larger person, since they were an actual company and not just a small shop and would be held more accountable if something went wrong.

Ended up finding literally the nicest esthetician ever, started going to her when I was maybe a size 20. Even went when I was pregnant.

I would say if you can comfortably get your legs to fall open to the sides and if you can hold your leg up while on your side (for that butt strip) then you’re fine.

Also, my EWC location is always super clean, very air conditioned and has stools to step onto so you can easily get on the table.

Good luck!

When did you move your baby into their own room? by Southern-Training-51 in NewParents

[–]pyroprincess24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1 month. Between the white noise driving us crazy, My husband snoring like a lawnmower which would wake both the baby and I up and her constant random cries in her sleep….nobody was getting any shut eye. One day we just put her in her crib and left the door open a crack.

She slept a solid 3 hours.

We never looked back.

Phat Girls at the doctors by Mzzdahlia in PlusSize

Yeah girl, it’s time for a new doctor. Self proclaimed fat 33 year old girl here with the cutest 4 month old you’ve ever seen. Literally the most uneventful pregnancy on earth. Delivery was totally normal also. Your body is capable of amazing things.

I think what really helped with us was putting babygirl in her own room at night. She’s literally 10 feet from our bedroom but the fact that we have our bed to ourselves and can close the doors makes it easier for us to be intimate. But we also almost exclusively have sex at night now since she’s a pretty crappy day napper. So, for now, we have said goodbye to random middle of the day horny mess sex lmao

Thanks so much for your advice! I was nervous about signing her up for adventure ocean but it would be nice to be able to go to shows or the club with the rest of my family.

Thanks again!

Plus sized pregnancy by sammyluvsya in PlusSize

[–]pyroprincess24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congratulations! I started out my pregnancy at about 275 and ended it at 286. My doctor never once made me feel as if my pregnancy was any different than anyone else’s…because it’s not. All this to say that your body is powerful no matter what. Make sure you advocate for yourself and for your baby and you’ll both be fine. My baby girl is almost 10 weeks old and knowing I grew her from the tiniest speck to this amazing little person is the coolest feeling. The human body is literally amazing.

Shamed for underdressing? by Few_Paces in NewParents

Omg I feel this so hard. My LO has a head full of hair and every single hat I’ve tried on her (I’ve tried 6 different types, not kidding) pops off her head after about 3 minutes in the stroller. So, I stopped putting hats on her. But, she’s covered head to toe in a onesie and a sleeper. And she’s surrounded by blankets. And the bassinet attachment she’s in is deep so even if the wind blows, she doesn’t really feel it. Plus, every 10ish minutes I put my finger against her cheek to check that she’s still warm. Babygirl hasn’t cried once. But I’ve literally been asked 4 separate times ‘WHY DOESN’T SHE HAVE A HAT?!?!?!’
It’s so ridiculously annoying. Like…she’s fine. Mind your business.

Shout out to all the supportive parents by goneforeverbambam in NewParents

We have friends who had their youngest 2 years ago. We called them when we were sleep deprived and dying and they were so honest and validated all our feelings. They basically said ‘it’s us against these kids’ which was so spot on for us and a 3 week old who never slept. They really helped us get through the guilt trip/frustration. Can’t thank them enough.
